This thread reeks of irony. Same people who thought the students were savages for (amongst other things) vilifying those students who didn't want to join their cause and defended those students for not joining their cause, are now doing the same here. Same people who would not go marching against gangsterism and drugs in the western cape or anywhere else for that matter, are vilifying those who wont march for their cause here.

Piss off. The whole lot of you. Go march if you want. Nobody is stopping you. That is your right. It is my right and whomever elses not to march for whatever reason I want and STILL complain about the country and how it is being run.
 
No I can't due to me needing the salary for that day. My company would have this standing policy saying no work no pay and a list of employees on duty would made for circulation. Good luck to all the marchers though.

Go and march if you want to. Don't march if you don't want to. But to assume that those that don't march, do not support the reason for the march cannot continue to use other means of showing their dissatisfaction with the situation is just wrong.

Have your complaints ever helped change anything ambroseg1?

I'll be the first to agree that South African marches to date haven't accomplished too much either, but that's because they haven't been done in sufficient numbers and shown a broad enough cross-section of South Africa uniting behind a common cause. There HAVE been numerous instances in other countries where mass mobilisation has effected political change, so we can only hope to achieve that here too.

The E-toll marches? Those were massive from what I remember. Did it change anything? No. E-tolls are still ongoing and one of the reasons the fuel levy is so high. Like I said, go and march. It is your right. I actually support your cause. But the moment you vilify those of us with differing opinions, or those of us that cannot or do not want to march for whatever reason, you are no better than those you seek to unseat. So my comment stands. Piss off if you have this ^ mentality.
 
i am looking for employment and that is far more relevant and important to me than some half @44ed march that will bring no change. we all know that the ruling party members will not vote him out. it is all hot air and they love the cookie zuma jar provider

Like I said before. Mantashe, Ramaphosa, etc etc.....their mouth breathing to the media was just that.....mouth breathing for the media for the masses.

Mantashe, Ramaphosa are not end all and be all of the NEC.

Besides, what I got from them is they are more insulted they weren't in the loop than anything else. I'd even say it's plays for the next election - Zuma's unpopularity will be a good thing to campaign against.

Steady on with the pre-emptive insults and defensiveness there, buddy. I think all anybody who wants to go to the march is to try and encourage as many people to join them as possible, so that it means as much as possible.

Isn't it better to be part of a project that is visible, than silently complain in anonymity behind our keyboard? Goodness knows we're all guilty of the latter, myself included, and it doesn't do a thing.

I sincerely hope that my employer gives us off on Friday, myself and a few members of our team were discussing it this morning and we want to take it up with him.

It might not help but if no-one stands up and does nothing, than only no-one has a right to complain.

I will not march and I WILL complain, and my complaints WILL carry as much weight as yours.

You have a right to complain and not to march. Thats a right we all get...for now.

Its an inconvenience for me, its a day off, a day I would rather spend at the beach too. For me it feels worth showing the support of the cause. For you maybe not, thats fine..and you right you can still complain.

If you change your mind please support the movement.
