I can't find a central location that lists all of them, it's mostly spread out over social media - you can find most of them on the OUTA facebook page for instance.

The edenvale one is one the edenvale community page, the somerset west one is mentioned on the somerset west facebook groups etc.
It's unfortunate there isn't better coordination but there are so many events happening and at such short notice that it's understandable I guess.

100% - this will be a first time for me as well. This is not a normal protest this is a very important pivotal point in our history.

I think everyone understands that some people can't go even though they want too, it's the people who don't want to go or who have given up without even trying that are disappointing. Ultimately people will know deep down which of these two camps they fall into, and have to live with that.

The main concern I have about ALL marches is safety and the ease with which these things generally degenerate into anarchy, looting and damage to private property.

The JHB march has already had to change venues twice now due to threats from the ANC Youth League to "defend Luthuli House". It shows that there is no political tolerance in SA. There is no room for public demonstrations by groups with minority views. The Police have now come out and said they will not be able to protect the marchers against possible aggression.

It shows our so-called Democracy for what it is -- a sham.

Much better to create a virtual march and allow all of us who fear for our safety and who can't attend for whatever reason to show our general support for the reasons behind the march.

A false assumption to make.

Being able to forum whore while working effectively says more about your ability to multitask than it does about the amount of work you have.

Also without the forum in between I would be bored out of my skull and therefore unmotivated and working less because of it.

Driving force says more about work ethic than sitting and staring at a screen all day pretending to work.
 
Yes, its a minor effort for a hopeful change.

If its not worth a day off from work to you, then fine. Then you cant complain though..

I booked my leave almost a year ago, I going to enjoy the day off at the beach or hiking up a mountain - depends on the weather.
 
This thread reeks of irony. Same people who thought the students were savages for (amongst other things) vilifying those students who didn't want to join their cause and defended those students for not joining their cause, are now doing the same here. Same people who would not go marching against gangsterism and drugs in the western cape or anywhere else for that matter, are vilifying those who wont march for their cause here.

Piss off. The whole lot of you. Go march if you want. Nobody is stopping you. That is your right. It is my right and whomever elses not to march for whatever reason I want and STILL complain about the country and how it is being run.
