Too much of funny. Maybe then in the spirit of new-found cooperation whites could offer blacks a 1, 2, 3 step program in return on 1) how not to lose your democracy & economy by blindly voting for a dictator, twice 2) racism won't die when you keep it on life support 3) appropriate gifts for president Zuma's 100th birthday..

So what are the chances of getting the N1 north and south in Centrurion blocked tomorrow morning?

From that reddit thread:

ANC:

Protest marches probably planned to protest the protest marches.
:crylaugh:

I'll be joining the march in my area, not sure how the turnout will be but we got legal permission from Metro etc.

And to all you slackers who Will standby and do niks, I'm leaving for good end of the year and I'm still marching tomorrow, because **** the Zuptas and their state capture

According to our Labour Relations Dept, this march/protest is not covered under the Labour Relations Act of 1995. No work, no pay will apply, also no leave will be granted to take part in the march.

What is the motivation for making a baseless statement, Slootvreter? You still can't explain it to me, but you're getting angrier and angrier at me. Why?

You have to ask him, but my assumption is that there serious warnings from the ANC's side to not march, the march is treason, etc etc. The SAPS also does not have a great track record. I just think the ANC government and the SAPS are an incompetent and idiotic bunch. You think it's racist.

Why are you saying I'm getting angrier? Something you made up, like your racist claim?

Whether leave will be granted or no work no pay, is up to your employer. Mine will grant leave, which I will not be taking.

Jeez another ANC supporter. Are you also taking some half bricks to throw.

I think your Labour Relations Department need to re-read the Law and the regulations. Not sure they are not inventing their own interpretations on the fly here.

I'm not a Labour Relations expert, but it doesn't bother me. I wouldn't have participated either way, just get a feeling things will get a dicey

Borrowed from a friend: Yes, the President has grossly abused his power and persistently acted irresponsibly toward those whom he is to be leading. He should be removed. That message will not be effectively conveyed by us acting irresponsibly toward the employees, students and children we are to be leading on Friday. The first weapon against irresponsible leadership in government is responsible leadership in our homes and businesses. Further, #Stayawayfriday will only do more harm to the economy by the lack of production/trade. It is like protesting a clogged bathtub by breaking off the shower head. You have the right to do so, but it lacks effectiveness. And you are creating an environment where citizens learn that they can get their way by staying away from their responsibilities. We need more people to be responsible and steadfast. We need more hard workers and law-abiding citizens. We already have enough criminals. Don't unwittingly become one of them by thinking you are doing good. Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

I beg to differ. That entire piece is basically stating that "Hey, let's show our children that the best way to be politically responsible is to hide away in our little day jobs, grinding away and hope that somebody else will make our lives better for us!" Also don't let's try to measure the impact of a single day off work vs the damage that Jacob Zuma has caused over the past YEARS in office, that'd be too inconvenient for that specific argument.

Here's the chart for the rand's exchange rate. Do you happen to see a trend between Zuma taking up office in 2009 and the unrelenting climb?

As for that last part - "we already have enough criminals" - I have no words. Who here is equating a legal march (as enshrined in our Constitution) with being a criminal???

Jussus some of you can bitch jeezuz. If an oke doesn't want to March or has other commitments leave him alone. Stop Thinking you're superior by marching ...

To add value, Here's a msg for you:

... some advice from experienced protester and human rights lawyer Tracey Lomax. Some of it is actually useful
Friday's protest is going to be horribly middle class, and no doubt a first for many, so let me give you a lecture in Protest 101.

1. Wear Sneakers and socks. You dont want blisters.

2. Dont wear mascara. It doesn't mix well with tear gas or pepper spray.

3. One among your number needs to mix up Rennie's and water in a bottle - for the aforesaid pepper spray and tear gas.

4 Wear a bandana - it will hide your face from SAPS spies who will be among the marchers. It also helps against tear gas.

5 do NOT wear any outfit which looks military.

6 Do NOT sing kumbaya. Go onto You tube and do searches for Fees Must Fall or other struggle songs.

7 If youre going to drink bottled water, it should be decanted into other bottles. No woolies, Evian or Perrier, darling.

8 No, you don't get extra creds for bringing your helper or gardener. You will get extra Creds for giving them the day off. How they choose to spend it is up to them.

9 Carry proof of residence and ID with you. Without it, you won't get bail.

10 Go onto the Right to Protest website and save their phone number in case you're arrested.

11 Berets aren't a fashion statement. Unless you share the politics of the party, don't wear one.

13 Please, no Madiba shirts. If you must wear a politician's face on your chest, try Biko, Hani, Sankara, Guevara. Go, now, and learn who they are.

15. By the same token, quote them and not Madiba.

16. If you see anyone in an EFF beret or PAC regalia run, get out of there. Those guys are tough AF, if they're running, **** is about to go down.

17 Please don't tell your children to "listen to the nice officer". The correct advice is "don't upset the lapdog of the ruling hegemony".

18. protest speeches start with shouts of "Amanda" and fists flung skyward. Go with it. The louder the better. Just not kumbaya!

19 attending this protest should be the start of your journey towards enlightenment. Not the pinnacle of it. For the love of glop, don't brag about it to the black people at the gym!

20 the people in the crowd taking videos and pics are probably NOT uploading them to IG, they're going in a nice file which will be kept at SAPS and titled "naughty white people who dont like uBaba"

Lool I guarantee you I'm not a ANC supporter....

Do you know how many blue light brigade travels on this stretch. Being pushed off the road by 10 or so bikes especially at the n14/N1 interchange....
