Are you stockpiling?

Ramaphosa's assertion that a second wave would be deadlier is simply not true. Nowhere in the world where a second wave has been experienced has seen a death count as high as the first wave. And ours was for whatever reason much lower than the global average anyway.

If there are more economic deaths, I lay the blame squarely at the feet of the ANC.

Too much of a black / white fallacy. Need an "other" option, something like, "it's entirely possible, but I'll believe it when I see it and then probably not be able to do anything about it"

Six weeks worth of foodstuffs is impressive. What sort of shortages did you experience the first time?
Fresh vegetables and meat were the biggest head ache and wine :(. I always like to be prepared even before 2020, but the SO was totally the opposite and now she realised that planning makes live easier.

Careful, you may get accused of suffering from aboulomania (chronic inability to make one's mind up)
(No offense meant @bwana :giggle: )

What's entirely possible? The question is are you stockpiling - there's really no need for an "other" this time around.

Aren't you jewish?

Hanukkah comes same time, (usually) as Christmas.

going to be tough on everybody no matter what religion you belong (or dont) to.

Lockdown doesn't work, but our esteemed m0r0ns in government copy like parrots the rest of the world.
I knew another lockdown going to come locally, 100% certinty,

Here's why I need an "Other" option - I'm not stockpiling, but I do think they may dare to do it.

If 100% of people adhered to the lockdown then we wouldn't need another one but this country is full of retards.
Did you hear about the non-conforming taxis, and informal settlements, throughout?... how exactly were the incidents here so low with such a lack of obedience, where did the lockdown then work?

The country can't afford a second hard lockdown. Just like we can't afford a new SAA, new infrastructure etc...

At the most, I'd restrict gatherings at restaurants etc, and ENFORCE the wearing of masks and sanitizing etc

everything that happens overseas, affects us about 3 months later.
because were so isolated from the rest of the (western) world,
we get affected later on.

yes, agree we cant afford it, yes agree people will go nuts and start rioting and looting soon enough,
no there is NOTHING we could have done to prevent it.

Lockdowns dont work, and NEVER have worked.
sledgehammer to the economy that was busy trying to recover.

Spot on!

Apologies, I'd like a "I know they would dare, and I still aint stockpiling."
