Lockdowns, despite the fact of not working, is a luxury item. Therefor question of affordability is paramount - and South Africa cannot afford it. We do have an abundance of people, lots of them unemployed, so the financially prudent thing would be to have no lockdowns at all.

We have the people, not the money.

And therein is the problem. A crackdown with covid case number through the roof will enable the pigs to unlock more funding from IMF and bingo, the trough is full and open for the looting once more.
 
In the previous run some pharmacies ran out vitamin c & d. Apart from ciggies that was about how bad it got for me in terms of availability.
 
Going on a booze run tomorrow, need to top up my stockpile. Still can't find marmite anywhere.
 
The ANC has been doing their own thing. The WHO made their views now abundantly clear and thus the ANC cannot misinterpret them any more. Not to mention that the ANC kicked their ‘intellectuals’ on their advisory council, so I guess that was another cooperation doomed.

Any decision now in my view is pure greed and an attempt at consolidating political power. I also won’t be surprised that China is driving some policy, with emphasis on supply and /cough industry reclamation.
 
Lockdown pretty much helped me eliminate any remaining debt I had due to lower expenses. Huge savings on fuel costs, groceries halved, gym and car insurance fees vanished, bond payments dropped by a couple k. I know its been bad for businesses, but financially it was a boon to me.
 
No, even if there is another hard lockdown in December it wouldn't make a difference to my usual December activity
 
No harm in stocking up on non-perishables. With our barmy lot, I see it as common-sense rather than the antics of the foolish.
 
There is fckall left to loot. Even the dumbest thief knows when they've bled a place dry. There will be no more lockdowns.
