Morning Mr Roux. I posted on the previous page about my upgrade fckup. Now most here know i'm not a pc/tech fundi. (Neither is my English) :D How do I fix my display driver to get my monitor to work again ? My setup: Laptop with a cable connecting the Dell monitor as external scrreen.

Buy a new computer. Windows 10 has deemed your hardware not worthy anymore. Time to make an offering to the computer gods.

In the Office/Workshop Windows 7 as almost no cellular repair equipment/tools works with Windows 10.

In my study, my laptop has Windows 10 and it's most annoying! Set certain apps to open files like PDF or PNG etc., a week later Windows wants to use one it's own W10 crappy apps to open them!

Windows 10 at home since it came out and finally got to upgrade from Windows 7 at work as well. Using both versions most days really does make it obvious how much better 10 is. Before, it had a large number of system apps still running the old UI, but MS is now making fast progress on that front.

Its major problem by far, is that they still ship IE11 with it, five years after its release. This is actually a major problem for web developers.

Work PC's running XP?

Nice environment you have there, nice and unsecure.

Seen this happen before on other topics and forums where XP is mentioned, people start going mental over the old OS.

Yep the cost of running something up to date is not worth it. Our attached equipment, Firewire cards, parallel port dongles and software were working with WinXP since we made the purchases. What broke is the holes found in the OS. Fenced it in and running XP happily. We bought two modern machines in 2011 that have packed up by 2016 and the replacement parts are too expensive. The older machines are running and being maintained. These unsecure and outdated machines do not have to be a risk to the company when done properly.

It would take huge investments to modernize.

How anyone lives without Fast Boot these days is a mystery. Seems slow and old is the new in thing?
