Anybody bought this game? I have watched gameplay of it and looks awesome! Everything you see in the trailer you can do in-game.
It is only in Alpha Version, because its a early access game on Steam. It was released 2 June, so its a brand new game. I am thinking to buy this next month...

EDIT: I follow jackfrags on Youtube and he has a GTX 980 in his build and he runs the game on Med - High Settings at 20 - 30 FPS. He did comment that they must improve performance, but they will in the final version of the game.
 
Saw a mate on my friends list was playing this, looks awesome!!!! Only thing that worries me is the performance issues you pointed out.
 
Me and a whole lot of friends are playing this, game is simply awesome. Yeah you need a decent rig too play it on. I have 2nd gen i7, 8gb RAM and a 680GTX and I run it on medium. There are a few graphical options to change to get better FPS, there are also launch modes for the game, like disable sky so no clouds etc that give you an extra 15 odd FPS.

The amount of content for an early game like this is great, and the level system is what makes the game work. They release patches everyday (no lies). And the reason why this game works is because the devs are in constant communication with the players on reddit and steam and they actually do listen! Can see this by the recent patches.

As for optimization they are working on it and you can see it improving, I mean I started on low graphics now it's at medium. Keep getting better with every patch and on Friday they releasing a "Jurassic Ark" patch which adds loads of more content, dinosaurs and huge optimization fixes. Remember Steam has the refund policy now so I would say get it on the weekend rather after the big patch and then make a choice, or just get it now, only problem is that it's highly addictive :)
 
The game is pretty damn great and addictive, and I see huge potential in it.

I was going to buy this, but I'll wait a few months to see how the community hold up after the hype.

I am thinking to buy it when the Steam Summer Sale is on. And yes, the game has huge potential! Yes, jackfrags gets 20 - 30FPS because he is recording while playing. As Shadow07 said, there is patches daily, making the game very playable.

I will be having these specs by 22 June: i5-4590, 8GB RAM, R9 280X.

Buying this on Steam sale is pointless; it won't drop in price being a newly released Alpha.

I started the game with a 5870...could pretty much only run it windowed mode on lowest settings. Realized it was time for upgrade anyway so I bought a 290x. On high settings I get around 15-30 fps....but at times it lags horribly. So now I am between med-high.

Note this was as soon as the game was released....it might have been improved in the mean time - I am not sure.

Was also meaning to add that there are a couple 100 SA players so servers are populated and there are SA servers which is nice :)
 
Official only seems to be in EU. There are customized ones here but I play on the standard MWEB server which is hosted by 3rd party so Unofficial. They are however always up to date and have the standard server settings.
 
Electric, I understand what you are saying, but the game is currently 17% discounted. It costs $24.89 (R306,71) and I was hoping it will drop more when the sale hits. Not a massive saving, because it is a new game, but just under R300. I will be more than happy to play the game on Med - High, but as everyone said, patches will be release to improve performance. I don't mind playing on a EU server. I feel my internet is fast enough to handle international lobbies, especially EU servers.

Game is great. Really needs to be optimized... alot.. Not a joke - patches are released daily.

Game looks great on High, as the trailer. Anything below medium will make you cry.

Will play again once its more optimized.
 
What is the patches average size? What GPU do you have, I see you like your graphics a lot! :D
Also, is High the highest setting you can go?

Less then 100MB a day. AMD 7950 3GB.

Epic is the highest. I'd advise giving it a couple weeks/months unless you have a beast of a machine.
 
I bought a R9 280X, and I will be more than happy if I can play the game on Med - High settings. I also want to OC my GPU just a little to get a bit more of performance. I will only be able to play this game beginning next month hopefully.
 
I play on medium, these are my specs to give you an idea (I haven't changed my graphics since all the patches though, my game has just become smoother, will try Saturday) get about 25 - 40 FPS. But very playable with that FPS.

i7 2700K
8gb 1866 RAM
Nvidia 680GTX
 
I did a GPU comparison between the two cards (R9 280X vs GTX680) and mine performs better...
So I am guessing I could push it to Med - High settings. I must wait and see. ;)

Been watching some twitch streams from Shroomz on ARK. The game is just not ready and I'll only get it once it's optimized. I have a R9 290 and I'll just get frustrated as hell having to play at 30 fps... They are busy optimizing the game so it should play way better in a few months :)
