I had a test run on my friend's PC... The game is crazy!
I am so hyped for it cannot wait! 22 June!!! (That is when I get my beast)

Once we have the server up I will make a new thread for requests.

As for my specs I'm running everything on ultra:

Intel i7-3770k
16Gig Ram
GTX970

Game runs very smooth. Just some parts of the game need more optimizing. More than 4 brontos in 1 area cause like 7 fps lol!
 
Okay cool beans!
If you can run it on ultra (aka epic), I am sure I would be able to play everything on high and some on epic!
Did you try going into caves, look at your FPS then! :D
 
Been playing since last night... I get about 35 FPS with a GTX 960 on medium. The game chows resources. It's really fun though, killed a few raptors already and I'm only like level 4
 
My pc literally has 1 FPS when I enter the cave. After that it's not that bad. Until you go further in obviously.
 
Medium is already like really nice graphics! Yeah, it does.
When I played on my friend's PC, that dino killed me from Jurassic Park that killed the fat guy, the one that blinds you.
I was busy cooking up some meat, and suddenly I was blinded. I fear them! But, raptors... They like MLG Call of Duty players, LOL!

Yeah, the caves literally breaks your PC... That is still a bug they need to fix.

Haha I had the same the first time I found someone's body just randomly lying around.
So I was being nice and dragging them off when I got hit from behind. I just ran like a little girl though, and eventually my vision cleared and I got away.
 
This game is really out-of-this-world!!!
I convinced two of my friends also to buy the game, so that we can make a private server for each other, or as well explorer other servers.
I look forward for this day... ---> [22 June] :p

Was reading online last night that you can enslave other players by knocking them out and feeding them narcoberries... then you can use them for blood transfusions and as pooh factories for your crops.

There was someone in the dark waiting, i went up to them and hacked them to death and stole their crap and then harvested them for meat. It was pretty funny in a dark sadistic sort of way.
 
Really, really amazing game with so much potential.

The one main problem with this game is it is a Survival Game and until they add proper admin tools, mods etc and some decent people can run private, possibly whitelisted servers the "nice" experience will be short lived.

Unlike some other games in the past you put in a lot of time leveling, taming and base building. So you dedicate yourself to a server. a Big % of servers in general, specially local servers are know for their Admin abuse and even hacking.

I see a lot of people on the Mweb servers, but they are notorious for Admin abuse. Not sure how many of you played Dayz mod at an early stage. That was hacker central. Even the admin got banned by Battleye more than once.
Then you move on to games like 7 Days to Die and you have it confirmed there again. Arma 3 and so on.

The core of the problem here being that these ISP's don't have staff that do the Admin duties. They usually have young people, in some cases even kids (go on the TS and listen to some of them speak) end up being Admin's on the servers. Someone who plays there and then applies or a friend of one of the admins, playing that game and then easily also becoming an admin.

No wonder so many of the established groups tend to still ignore what a local ping offers and go play these sort of games on private International servers.

Any good Game Master or decent Admin will tell you that you just don't play on the server you Admin.
Sure you have some good guys out there that pay for a server, play on it and Admin it correctly. It does happen (and we've seen it) but they are far and few between.

That is just the sad reality, but I hope and wish this game all the best. As an early access title it is truly amazing seeing we are 1 year away from the official release. The activity from the Dev team is outstanding.
 
Ive been playing on both Mweb JNB and CPT and there is no admin abuse. However the griefing is real. Ive had to rebuild 3 times only to be wrecked by some idiots early in the morning while my whole tribe was asleep.

If you dont start on a PVP server when the server first goes online, you end up having to deal with high level players running around on lvl 50 Trex's and automatic rifles. What is the point at that stage?

Mweb put up a PVE server where you actually cannot attack other players. Dinos have been increased to make the game a bit harder. May go and play on there for a while as I just cannot spent another week building a base again and would actually like to just see the end game stuff, broodmother and cave bosses etc.

I found that it gets helleva addictive. I can kill multiple full days playing this game, to the disdain of my wife. The constant need to harvest, drink, eat forces you to just keep going. More dinos you have, the higher the upkeep and the more work you essentially need to do. I forget to do stuff like eat some real food because Im just too distracted.

I've already bumped into a few guys on the server I play that moved from mweb because of this. Apparently they also only attack early hours of the morning when people are sleeping. Cowardly acts to say the least

I originally started on MWEB but moved after they had a 24hr downtime because the server wasn't getting updated.

Some people have said thats just the name of the game when it comes to survival titles such as this.

if thats the case, I wont be playing for too long. I reckon those guys will grief until somebody does it back to them, and then thats the last time they will play it. Players getting bored basically.

Which is why im thinking maybe a PVE experience would be a little better for me right now.

Those people need to understand what PvP means. If the other player is not around to defend is it really player vs player. Also you need to really fight against those on your level or above ( if you brave enough to take on someone stronger ) otherwise it's once again an unfair battle. Pikes/Bows do not win wars if up against guns.

Games like these are really dependent on the player attitude. PLayers should also stand together against griefers... I would be more than happy to assist a tribe in destroying someone that was griefing them.

SnowWar, do you know how many hackers is there now on DayZ... The game is unplayable and messed up! I also really wanted to buy that game, but it is totally messed up. I hear what you are saying. People on this thread has commented their private servers, which they control who joins via a password and so what, so I'll probably join them... But I also want to LAN with my friends, so I would make a private server which they can join. And I hope there won't be admin abuse, because that will be really sad, because this is really a fantastic game!

We will most likely go play on a private, Passworded or Whitelisted International server or host our own. In Dayz I enjoyed the International community and latency is fine.
