I know a lot of friends that would drink and drive home ("would" because they do not anymore, with all the focus on drink driving). Not one of them has ever had a car accident, or have ever skipped a red robot.

I would agree with that, I would definitely have killed the guy, I wouldn't make it a law.

Imagine a normal guy, lives his life till the age of 40, has a few kids along the way... He donates to charity, is a community leader. People love him..
Okay so one day he has a drink at his staff farewell party, and drives home (500m from his house)
He gets pulled over, and is executed. Nice concept.

It is a drinking nation. There is just not enough adequate solutions for people to go out drinking and get home.

I think if people cause an accident and are guilty of drink and driving put them in jail.
If someone dies from their accident, give them the death sentence.

There is a difference between a person having a gun and a person killing someone with the gun.

Take turns with your friends to be a designated driver. It's not like you go out drinking alone.

We all know that public transport here sucks, and much of that has to do with the fact that the population isn't concentrated in particular areas as it is with most cities around the world. It's the situation that we find ourselves in, so learn to live with it.

im usually designated dave ! its stupid to drink and drive.... the amount of times the car infront of me is using all 3 lanes is scary :/

i believe it should be a criminal record and car taken away, sold, and they can use that money to upgrade transport.

Dude I got hammered once and drove home...drank since 2pm to 3amish...I hate myself for doing that and I still do...NEVER EVER EVER EVER again!

No justification for driving under the influence.
