Article: "Avatar 2" will take viewers underwater

I have started saving for tickets already. R50 a week savings should get me there before end of year.
 
Need a guarantee it won't be as woke as #2 , else :thumbsdown:

What are the tweets & trailers suggesting?

Excessive environmental leanings, and humans seen as self-empowering while displacing native people (sure, it was in #1 too but not as strongly). Also there were apparently plenty of real tribal symbols etc. though didn't notice that one myself.
Some say it had stronger roles for women, I think it was more about too much focus there.

Whole thing felt too Snowflakish to me (and I prefer less aggressiveness).
Clearly someone's agenda had influence, I saw it when that was most a pain for me and couldn't wait for it to end.

None of that is woke though.

And like you said, those themes were very much part of the first movie and it will continue be part of the future movies too. Environmentalism, nature, and preservation of their world and their fight to protect it from humans trying to colonize and exploit it etc are what those blue aliens are all about, so I don't think these movies are meant for you if you think it's woke. You won't like the next 10 Avatar movies.

But fair enough, one man's nature is another man's woke poison. The woke label wasn't widespread here, but Hollywood are certainly no angels in that abuse
