Article: "Avatar 2" will take viewers underwater

If I could get three hours of my life back and unwatch this movie, I would.

Yes it is really beautiful, particularly in IMAX 3D, but I need a reasonable plot too.

Avatar 2 is the very first Aliens vs Humans movie shot from the Aliens point of view where I’ve still ended up taking the side of the Humans.

Let us all cry whenever a single Avatar character is killed, but watching dozens of humans getting killed is normal? Meh … I’m a human, I’ll take the human’s side thanks.

This plot is a lame environmental message told on an alien planet with some teen angst, love and parental drama thrown in to give the characters something to say for three hours.

You want beauty? Get out into nature for three hours instead.

You want to watch an enjoyable family movie? Anything else will be better than this. Anything.

Sorry for sounding so triggered, but this is like watching Titanic 2. A terrible idea all around.

R175 each, but it goes down to R135 iirc if you have Vitality. As for “worth it”, I think my review answers that. But go be my guest and experience it and let us have your review after.

That's not too bad, the price. R500-600 for petrol and tolls and parking. So around R800. Then popcorn. So about R2000?

Mmmmm... I'll have to think very carefully about this one. Let me ponder on it while looking into the distance....

Lol pretty crazy for a movie so many hates and with no so called cultural impact. Just shows you the internet is all just hot air and it's really broken.

Watched this last night. SO many lose ends and holes in the story, but animation was pretty awesome. Anyhoo, was the first cinema experience I've had since 2001. I was completely shocked when the woman filling popcorn bag(no longer boxes) simply whipped out a clear dustbin bag of cold pre popped corn from a cupboard, filled the display and continued to pack the bags. The whole experience was so clinical, tiled floors in the foyer, no longer that thick carpet underfoot. The smell of fresh popcorn nowhere to be found and the strange self service system to order exorbitantly dear snacks. The seats were much improved and the experience inside the cinema was quite rad.

The sad results of a combination of COVID and Ster Kinekor's business rescue plan. My local Ster Kinekor had popcorn boxes with salt shakers and a ticket counter with staff as recently as 2019. Better than not having cinemas at all I guess.

What made Avatar 2 seem so appealing that it brought you back to the movies after 20 years if I may ask?

Movie could have been 2 hours. Story poor. Hubris on the part of James Cameron.

Reusing same villain, really?

Special effects amazing. JC knows water and it shows. Worth the price to see in IMAX.

I won't be watching this 4 times in the cinema as I did with the original

TBH the clone angle is ok, even if was never mentioned in the original, that gives him the chance of realising that he probably has a lot more in common with the natives than the humans (by movie 7).

But the whole Grace not-dead maiden birth so she could give birth to herself angle was extremely meh.
