I'm not talking about the Sak situation, you see this on many platforms. And his hardening of attitude is exactly what will happen with most people because of the talking down that happens.

While I share your dismay with people being condescending towards people they deem too stupid to understand democracy, you must realise that people who are well-informed, and well-educated will often be white, and their voice is also important. My problem is with the condescending tone, I'm not saying whitey should be silent...there are a lot of white commentators (even on this forum!) who give their opinion without insulting people. If you use that negative approach it's inevitable that apartheid will be brought up because that's exactly how white people related to the majority.

People, you all confuse each other. The 'whites' in South Africa are getting fewer by the day. You should worry less about race and more about the growing numbers of people getting big money because of rampant corruption. There are less then 5% whites in SA. Even if you believe the distorted ANC census numbers, you have to agree that the white population in SA is getting into 'irrelevant' percentages. At one time there were almost 20% whites in SA. Today . . . The one thing whites have in their favor is their higher intelligence. The problem is, the ANC can't take that away.

You're shocked that there are white people who are well-informed and well-educated? Really? :erm:

It's not their whiteness that indicates this. It's just the reality of our country at this point in time, given the education disparity generated over the last couple of decades.

What does one do when patient discussion, the showing of numerous examples, and rational discourse no longer works? I'm not saying condescension is going to help, but blaming only one side in the argument is pointless. His blockheadedness is his own doing.

Going out of your way to screw someone making a (wrong or right) choice takes the cake. I've branded doing that as being a dick. saksak can choose his own actions and I'm pretty sure he doesn't really care what people call him either way (if you're willing to screw over people, name calling means very little)

Ja. I don't frawn upon difference of opinion. And it's unlikely that I will insult anyone in a public forum. Even when people have made obvioulsy stupid comments, the worst I have said is "logic fail"

If you can't accept that people will differ with you (no matter how rational you think your choice is), then you are the one with the problem. At the end of the day insulting them won't win them.
