Article: EFF's parliament arrival

Turning their first parliamentary appearance into a cheap, childish, PR stunt really shows their level of respect for the country's democratic institutions and electorate. One can only hope they'll be taken as seriously as their outfits suggest they should be, that is, as clowns. I'm guessing Malema is dying to be thrown out of parliament, which he probably will be sooner or later, so that he can claim injustice and bleat about how workers are being downtrodden. He may have failed woodwork but he is a genius at stirring evil.

Viva EFF, VIVA!

Down with the disparities between the 'have' and 'have nots'!

Today is a watershed moment in our history.
Today will be better than yesterday.
Tomorrow will be better than today.

His spelling is right - but for a different body - Parlement is the French word used in English to describe the bodies of pre-revolutionary France which were quasi-legislative and judicial that mostly rubber stamped the edicts of the king and were a place of petty intrigue. Looking at what the Zumastration has been striving for and the similarities in wanton palatial expenditure the term might actually be apt.
That is what it wil be from now on then. ;)

You always astonish with your "learnings" and "teachings". Well appreciated.

Now that obfuscation is going to have the grammar Nazi's in awe! :D

I thought you weren't allowed to wear party colours in parliament.
No party insignia, but colours are a little more difficult to fully state - can a DA member no longer wear a blue tie, and what about a party with a rainbow as its colours?
"your party colour is black you may not wear a dark suit ..."

I do think they are contravening the spirit of the practice but the solution really is simple require MPs to wear robes

They were voted for by those who dress as they did today, so I see no reason why they can't dress the same way. Parliament should be a representation of the voters, it shouldn't be this high echelon of the middle class.

Having the brain-dead like Shivambu , Moonsamy etc purporting to represent anyone but themselves is a mockery of democracy.

Those two guys are educated, and no fools at all.

Care to elaborate on the level of education the leader of the ANC and EFF achieved?

Care to elaborate on the context within which they were able to get this education ?

Now I'm not going to claim there aren't a lot of stupid people in the mentioned parties by the traditional western standard. But you play right into the hands of those who would have you represented as "elite" and "callous and out of touch with the poor man's needs" when you call them stupid.

Speaking of stupid, it's an incredibly stupid strategy to winning the hearts, minds and trust of the poor. You actually couldn't do anything worse than that if you wanted to earn their trust and eventually their vote. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

They actually showed up? On time?

I thought Malema would be out shopping for his new set of wheels already.

damn effective populism and as long as it doesn't dovetail incitement to violence and hate speech it is a good thing in a democracy

Yes. But I can imagine that if I was a domestic workers oroverall wearing, manual labourer my heart would be brimming with love for the Eff for this gesture of solidarity. People can say what they want but it's an ingenious move on their part.

That is not their motive. They are only interested in cheap publicity.

Classic :)

I have to admit, that while I find the Eff as sincere as a catholic priest handing out candy at a puppet show, that the idea of the average struggling working man taking a seat in parliament amongst the stuffy" bourgeoisie" elite does appeal to some innate idealistic sense of justice and fairness in me.
