Article: Master athlete euthanised at 95

no we don't have to disagree here, you are advancing a belief of yours - that death terminates existence - as a justification for inflicting on the rights of others who may have different beliefs.

In an absolute materialist sense death has no bearing on the question of existence at all (the material is still around); in a dualist paradigm death does not terminate existence

You really need to define existence in a very special way to make such a sweeping conclusion and the implement the conclusions from same that you are advancing.

Occam's Razor applies.

In an absolute materialist sense death has no bearing on the question of existence at all (the material is still around)
Conciousness is more fundamental to existence than whatever realm that mind finds itself in.

You really need to define existence in a very special way to make such a sweeping conclusion and the implement the conclusions from same that you are advancing.
Very special way? Very simple way more like. Only the most basic of assumptions are made, in the face of no further evidence.

Religion does not destroy all of existence.

For many it has, but that's besides the point.

So what? It's their existence, not yours...

BTW, there is an earlier post requiring your attention...

You really need to go back to the drawing board and define existence in a coherent form before you slit your own throat with a razor - which is what happens when you don't know how to use it

If I were to be on my way out ... I would at least wait for the pain to start (and also the prognosis from numerous doctors) ... before I would even think of offing myself.

This article does not contain a lot of information about his illness, it's quite possible that he was already in pain and that the prognosis from more than on doctor had been received, and that the prognosis was extremely negative.
