Please proof read "High court judge rules against closed SABC meeting"

There are errors and omissions too numerous to mention.

In http://mybroadband.co.za/news/hardware/14480-Flat-screen-TVs-Prices-plummet-new-tech-arrives.html our old friend 'Staff Writer' has the idea that TV and cellphones are to make some bastard love-child with this little tidbit: "Good news for consumers is that this trend is likely to continue. 3G capable televisions are already the next best thing in the local TV market, making LED, LCD and plasma TVs look like ‘older technologies’." ...maybe it's just me, but shouldn't that, too, be 3D?

In his Apple announces new iPods, iTunes, iOS and Apple TV uncle Jan fell into the dastardly English homophone booby-trap; which, to be fair, native English speakers blithely stumble into all the time.

But he's a pro and has to be aware of these things so as to not get caught out by the likes of me (and the rest of them we KNOW are lurking in MyBB just itching to pounce on these...) :p so, in
Jobs provided a sneak peak at iOS 4.2 which will add printing as well as photo and video streaming to other Apple devices. AirTunes will be renamed AirPlay as video and photo streaming will be added to the existing music streaming feature.
he would want to change 'peak' to 'peek'.

This native English speaker stumbled into that one and was duly "catched" out :P

Thanks for the relatively gentle rebuke.

So, having frothed at uncle rpm's submission of "Get on your tuxedo’s - MyGaming pays respect to our oft-forgotten PC gaming brother, the Linux user" I see that he was merely repeating the opening line from the actual 13 cool Linux Games article and the real offender is one "James E-Smith" ..who CLEARLY needs to be beaten with (bear with me, I'm being facetious now) club's, bat's, and maybe even some stick's so as to learn that's NOT how one uses the apostrophe: the plural of tuxedo is tuxedos, dammit!

Further
  • in "The list below focuses mainly on free and open-source Linuxgames" that should be "Linux games"
  • at "It boasts some pretty snazzy graphics, reminisce of a suped up Age of Empires." ..um, what? Maybe "reminiscent", "souped"?
Still, the above notwithstanding, I was glad to have been informed about these games ..only, properly would have been nice.

I just read that article and was about to add all of those points  Only to find bdt has stolen my thunder...
Will someone actually fix these errors? The "tuxedo's" one is really irritating.

Thanks for pointing out these typos - fixed

From the MPLS article:
  • At "An IP router determines the appropriate destination for an arriving packet by matching the destination address in the packet's header to an entry in its routing table (list of know destinations)." ..*cough*
  • At "When scaled to the traffic volumes and number of destinations inlarge enterprise and especially service provider networks, this can become an issue." ...come now, really?
  • At "a mechanism to provide IP based VPNs." Less glaring, that should be "IP-based"
  • At "MPLS's labelling scheme is used to create a pseudo wire joining (bridging) the two ports in a seamless and transparent manner."Methinks this is similar to the above.
And the above in as tech-heavy an article as this: such irony! :D

AAARRGH FOK! Will someone PLEASE bludgeon into that Staff Writer cretin that in Don’t trust your ATM...or Sex Trader it is NOT (and will never be) this:
The SAPS saw a big increase in sophisticated equipment being installed on ATMs which skims credit card details, records pin numbers and stores this information for later use.
"PIN" here is the acronym for Personal Identification Number" and so, like shagging your sister (no matter HOW good the idea seems), "Personal Identification Number number" is, and will ALWAYS be wrong!

.
..
... </aneurysm>

The correct form of the term is "PIN code"; please, oh PLEASE: on behalf of everyone for whom this particularly vile stupidity is akin to physical pain, get it right!
