Article: No white men for SAA training programme

Wont fly SAA again, even if its cheaper than other airlines.

Bye SABEEA!

The ironic part is, enforcing affirmative action is pretty much them admitting they are inferior to the evil white man and need help to compete. Any dictionary will tell you that pointing inferiority, physical or intellectual, based on the colour of one's skin ... is simple racism.

The ANC led government is guilty of racism against blacks. :D

+1
But one needs some sort of intelligence to figure it out. To the clever chap who said, racial discrimination has to carry on in South Africa, ask yourself why can't blacks compete intellectually? Why must there be racial discrimination to ensure 'equality'? And 100 years of racism in SA? Are you sure 100 years ago there was economical integration? Can it be that the technological gap was so big for any meaningfull economical integration to happened? How many 'whites' were pilots in SAA 100 years ago? Go get a life . . . or read some history books on South Africa.

Till the company demographics represents the country demographics,so clearly 75% of their staff has to die or be fired

Only way that will happen, is the unemployment rate drops 50% or more. Alternatively, white unemployment can be forced. :banghead:

I'm against BEE as it doesn't address poverty, it addresses race, but i feel 18 years wouldn't be enough even if it worked.

Look at how many decent jobs want 4 or more years experience. So add that to basic experience. Then add the amount of years it takes to study. Let's add 3 for arguments sake.

Then i am also sure a lot of our families us pay for our studies. I couldn't afford the cost of my courses, and i couldn't get a job that could pay for the studies without studying. Ironic. Let's say i save for 2 years again in a measely job.

Do you see how years add up? I didn't even add bias coming out of apartheid, an enormous population that cannot be helped do to the size, and the difficulty of adapting to a different career

Considering nearly 20 years have passed, during which time predominantly BEE candidates were given the bursaries/sponsorships available, there are quite a few educated BEE candidates even at your mentioned 7 years. Prior to the previous 18 years there were also BEE candidates studying in the higher education institutions for a few years. Maybe the numbers studying were not as great but there were quite a few.

I had an interesting conversation with an elderly BEE client 2 years ago. His 4 children, like quite a few other EDUCATED BEE canditates have left SA as they have see better job opportunities outside of SA. From what I recall his children visit him at least twice a year, so I doubt their current earnings are bad.

Apart of the racial sore point BEE would never 'empower' blacks even if all the whites will emigrate tomorrow. The are around 2 million posts occupied by whites in SA and close to 20 million blacks waiting to replace them (as BEE wants it). Actually never mind that point. Judging by the success of the government institutions where BEE has strongly been implemented, I fear the outcome. For obvious reason, state institutions were first in line. Now they are moving to semi state. And then the private sector. It will come, like it or not. Are only the whites going to be disadvantaged by this racist policy? Your children will be the judges.

First flight by the Wright brothers was in 1903. So I'm guessing SAA Introduced their pilot progam to whites only in 1911, thereby excluding the BEE brotherhood from flying through the rainbow for the last 100 years.

I also thought this has been in place for a while.
Strange how its now acceptable to bar a certain race group - sort of like 20 years ago all over again.

Yeah just thinking about that while lying next to the pool sipping on some red wine while the steaks marinade for the braai. You know how disenfranchised us whites are now ? Sort of exactly the same as what the blacks had it during Apartheid.

Seriously though. You guys do understand that AA only exists as a concept so long as whites have it so much better than anyone else ? So basically you're bitching that you are in the most priveledged group and crying about how unfair it is ? Silly.

This has now been fixed. See the article in Week-end Argus. "It was all a mistake" SAA said (tongue in cheek)

Yip, only whites have pools and eat steaks with red wine. Oh actually you are right, the black diamonds only eat sushi off naked models. Strange, as a "privileged" white I've never eaten sushi off a models ass :(

SAA is talking sh*t!

There is no way I will be flying the airline myself.

The problem now is the fact that they already started declining white male applications online. The company is clearly looking for an intake of only black male and female recruits. Unfortunately, not everyone will make it, so the company will not be able to do this for another 1 or 2 or even 3 intakes, as they need pilots to keep the aircraft in the air.

Their next solution, as with educational institutions, will be to just pass a certain number of recruits.

The SAA cockpits will start filling up with two people for failed their courses and now have to fly the real thing. It is going to be fu**ing hectic I tell you!

In a few years from now planes will start dropping from the sky...
