Article: Obama has slight edge against Romney

I don't believe in anything supernatural, not because I actively assert that such beliefs are not true but because I just don't find the evidence compelling enough. What beliefs do I have?
Apologies I didn't know this forum centered around "supernatural" beliefs
You telling me you don't believe in anything? So you don't believe in gravity?

Can you maybe relax and hold onto your panties? I am on my BB ;)

I'm sure you know as well as I do, that asking people on the internet to read certain material, especially those who hold a differing opinion to your own, is very often an exercise in futility. If I seem to be pushy, don't take it personally, it's just how I've become accustomed to need to behave online, to have any hope of a response, generally.

I'm also guilty of it as well - It's all too easy to skirt around information that clashes with any deeply held notion I may have.

*edit*

Regarding this whole 'belief' thing, I must admit, while there are things I 'believe', I think it's more accurate to say there are things I know and things I do not. Belief seems to imply faith to me, which is most certainly not a way I assess reality. It's a semantic issue though...

So much for democracy, it's clearly an illusion when a tiny racial minority of 2% can buy the government they want.

Campaign donations from Jews or Jewish and pro-Israel groups account for as much as 60 percent of Democratic money

"Jews are less important as voters than they are as activists and contributors. Jews provide pretty close to half of the money available to Democratic candidates," said Benjamin Ginsburg, a political science professor at Johns Hopkins University.

Marine1, read this article, it makes a pretty good point, I think.
I think the only reason for this is due to the fact that if Obama gets in, he will use force as he has his second term secured.
Trust me, he will not attack Iran for the Jews or Israel but for his own interests as having Israel as allies is far more important to the region and the world.
I still do not believe he cares about Israel or the Jewish people but needs them.

He should be careful, his money may dry up ;)

You don't think obama cares about the jews? why?

So marine is obama the anti christ?

Maybe you should ask someone who believes in Christ?

marine1 cant possibly admit that in public:p, but privately we know what he 'believes';)
Really genius, and what do I believe, please enlighten me........

I'm not sure I understand this sentence. :o

You say this as if the USA has a responsibility to act on behalf of Israel.

I have no idea, one way or the other, but I can't think of any reason why Obama specifically doesn't care for the Jewish people. But like any politician, sure, most of what he does is out of need (or more often who you have to thank for being in power).

It sounds, basically, like you will only approve of a president, if they behave as if Israel is almost part of America, and any decisions regarding international politics are made with Israel's well-being in mind. Which is fine, I suppose - I guess I just don't understand why this is expected behaviour.

In any event, I don't see much (any) evidence that Obama has it in for the Jews. After all, he's currently murdering Muslims in droves...

Whatever our reasons for not being a fan of Obama, I struggle to take anyone seriously who thinks Romney would be a better option, and 'anybody but Obama' is not a good enough reason, not by a long shot.

R13 i believe obama could be the anti christ if that is true. If there was ever going to be an anti christ he would fit the bill.

I don't really believe all that kuk but if i did obama would be my pick hahah.

No what I meant is he will use force now that he has secured a seond term. What he was after all along, as all presidents before and after him. If he acts its for his interests, not Israel's.

Did you read some of my links?

I will support a president that acts for the good of humanity, supporting the Arab cause is not the way forward. Balance is whats needed.

For marine1 it is anybody but Obama. Even another Democrat would do for him. His motives are a little bit more sinister than he lets on.

I accept gravity, but it's not a 'belief' in the same way someone might believe in fate or divine intervention.

Duh !!! well done. I would prefer a Republican as thats what I support. As for Democrats, have I ever said that I would not like a dem in power? I do not trust or like HIM. When have I ever tried to hide that ? Sinister....maybe you should look up the meaning.

So you believe in gravity then.

So you believe in gravity then.

One of the definitions of belief is 'any vague idea in which some confidence is placed' - this would accurately describe my view of the Theory of Gravity or Theory of Evolution. The definition of belief as you used it when I first quoted you was 'a belief in supernatural powers or powers that control human destiny'. These are very different. I wouldn't believe in the Theory of Gravity if the people who are qualified to comment on such matters disagreed on it. I don't spare a thought for it on a day to day basis and if a better theory came along it wouldn't faze me. Theistic belief is unchanging, requires belief despite a total lack of evidence and affects day to day behaviour significantly.
