Article: Owls are being decapitated

It's not called darkest africa for nothing, this continent will never catch up.

Really feel like I'm in the wrong country when I read articles like this. It's like there are two time zones here, one half is stuck in the 100 000 year ago monkey phase, and the other actually moved on.

why is the issue with "that place" rather than the individuals that do this? a lot of educated school kids live there, and are subject to what their family and neighbours do

Go into Alex, catch the owls again and release them into areas where they would be appreciated and can still do good.

I would love to have a few owls in my area tbh....

So why did they kill the dog ?

You are wrong.

Bats are the reservoir, it is believed. The virus lives in them, without affecting them. Carriers, if you will.
The dog, if it got infected, would have probably become symptomatic, and been a major health risk.

There was only one comment that referenced Alexandra as a **** hole. The rest referred to the large number of uneducated and backwards people that make up the place.

Just put up some nice nesting areas and they will come themselves.

You would think that they would consult the community beforehand as its quite well known that owls have a lot of superstition around them. Its still not right of the community though.

Dont be so naive. because going and installing a owl box in a school is normal, obviously no one was told.

Along the wild coast the locals killed all the vervet monkeys in the area we visit, their reason being "the monkeys come and steal milk from the cows"

Monkeys are all but gone yet milk still gets stolen, enough said.
