Lol...then you might as well say the same thing for all STF operations prior to Director Mike Fryer leaving. Any group of men with machine guns, a helo or 2, comms, can do what they did.

And besides, I'm sure current TF members read through such forums on a daily basis.....to see who has "the utmost respect" for them or not.
 
Again, completely missing the point, pre Fryer, the selection process was not what it is after Fryer. Are you bothering to read or just posting emotionally?
Pre Fryer, that selection process was excellent and only the best of the best made it. Get it now or should I draw pictures?

I'm bothering to read, but just because Marine 1 said it, doesn't make it true. I'm telling you that the selection process is still excellent and only the best applicants make it through. I mean look at the NIU (which is at a level below SFT) which only has around plus minus 300 members. Their selection process is far from a walk in the park.....take that and extrapolate to STF. Guess you can believe what you want to believe....

What confuses me is that any police service have to hire private security to guard them or their installations.

In fact, not only am i confused about this, i am also deeply concerned about this.

So should you be.

Try reading the article, also the SAPS have many buildings and employees who aren't armed or protected. It would be cause for concern if they used police officials to do this guarding instead of private security guards.

There might be instances where they shouldn't need any private security, and I guess we hope they don't waste money on that. I've never seen any private security guards at police stations for one thing.

Same as me....more "ghost payment as in pensions, etc". Seriously, I've not seen also! But seems to me more private people should be really employed at Saps stations to run their admin - I find normal cops cannot fill in the most basic of forms! There will be less missing documents, dockets, firearms, "criminal cronies" walking away from unlocked cells!
Hell, I can see the country straighting out already!!!

I am just now wondering how much was spent by the police on private security during the Apartheid years?

Oh! I forgot.
There was no such thing as private security.(except for armoured bank money transit vans)

There is no end in sight for the gravy train in the New South Africa.
 
I am also wondering how much Scotland yard or the FBI or even Mugabe's police force to our north is spending on private security per year?

Now that you mention that you have never seen private security at police stations, it struck me that i have not seen any either.

Are you trying to tell me that the taxpayer is paying for private security whilst there are none?!

The methods government uses to enbezzel us never ceases to amaze me.
