Criminal records of ex-convicts convicted of certain crimes should be scrapped, the Economic Freedom Fighters said in its founding manifesto.

I see no causative logic in the statements...

"We need to scap certain items from the criminal records of certain convicts" (potentially implying. in the best base, 'We believe certain classes of crime should maybe not be classified as crime, leading to overcrowding in prisons, and unnecessary destruction of reputations')

and then...

"The levels of re-arrests in South Africa are very high, because the country's correctional services system is not corrective," (implying that 'we keep arresting the same losers because they don't learn, and we can't teach, and we keep letting them out before their time')
