Why would I pay a company to sell me a product that harms my body and gain nothing positive in return?
I guess looking cool is more important than staying healthy.
Logic....
Now, we're finding two-thirds of deaths in current smokers are attributable to smoking."
The health risks of smoking are worse than we thought, an Australian researcher said Friday.
But the good news is that those who quit in their 20s or 30s avoid about 90 per cent of the excess risk compared with those who never smoked.
Considering that 100% of deaths are contributable to living, you are guaranteed to die of something.
Name one thing you benefit from smoking, and don't tell me that it relieves stress thats a load of bull, its mind over matter.
i can expect lung cancer in the near future because of you guys that are unwilling to stop this bad habit
my father died at the age of 59 after 50 years of smoking. he smoke about 20s a day sometimes when i was still small i have to buy 2 packetts a day. he died because his lungs couldn`t get oxygen to first his brain and then his heart.
that is why i hate smoking, when i walk to work in the morning almost everyone in front of me is smoking. nothing i can do because it is outside. still no fresh air for me! i can expect lung cancer in the near future because of you guys that are unwilling to stop this bad habit
Rubbish
Fear mongering hogwash seems to have gotten the better of homeboy.![]()
it's not about looking cool, it's an addiction, like ice cream
My reply is usually something like: "I enjoy jumping off bridges... problem is I won't be able to enjoy it repeatedly, so I look at alternatives"
Sure... but it becomes prohibitively expensive very quickly as I would want to do it multiple times a day much like smoking. I can afford to jump off bridges without bungee cords but that's not very good for my healthWhy cant you base jump/bungee jump repeatedly?

Not a financial thing as I said I prefer the cheaper alternative.Right so its a financial thing, smoke as much as they can afford is what you're now trying to say?
Why would you try to make this comparison, does smoking carry a 100% chance of death after one puff? Everything you do carries a risk, logical people, will weigh up the probability of this risk and how much enjoyment they get from said activity and go from there.

And on your second point that's exactly my point people need to weigh up the risk sure some people would still jump off a bridge others would still smoke after weighing up the risks but don't complain when you die or get cancer. And that's everyone's right to decide to do it anyways. What I don't like is when smokers are on their death bed and their family is all torn up, been there done that almost wanted to tell everyone not to be sad as this cancer was something he didn't mind getting it was his choice after all.
At least jumping off a bridge is quick.
