Actually, MegasXLR we do need a change in government policy. First off they must stop promising land redistribution because that is near impossible without repercussions.
What I suggest as an option is that -
1. Land that is currently unused be expropriated (Not whole farms but the parts that are not being used). You will be surprised how much arable farmland is currently lying fallow.
2. The potential new farmers need to be screened for their ability and willingness to farm and should be approved on a temporary basis until they can prove that they can farm profitably (like probationary period).
3. The potential new farmers be financially assisted by public institutions to obtain Agri loans at reduced interest rates.
4. Lastly, not every black person wants to be a farmer. Some of us are very much happy in the cities.:erm: Therefore, government should endeavour to give land only to those that want to be farmers. So I would suggest that the government forgets about the targets of black ownership as it's just a political stick that is used by the likes of Malema to stir sh#t.
