Article: Zuma calls for action on infrastructure

President Jacob Zuma says the time has come for "concrete action" to develop Africa's infrastructure.

"We have done enough planning in the continent ... it's either we (leave) things as they are and let Africa trail behind forever or we do something about our infrastructure in order to develop like others," Zuma said at a NEPAD Infrastructure Experts meeting in Pretoria on Friday.

Mr President... just in case your "advisors" haven't told you this yet...

We no longer believe the words you utter... action is the only thing we believe, and even then we know its only to line some cronies back pocket.

Do something? Does he mean beyond letting the colonial infrastructure inheritance disintegrate? wouldn't that be unafrican?

But the ANC broke the infrastructure and fed the proceeds to deployment through neglect and fraud mostly funnelled through BEE.

You cannot build something on top of what is already broken.

Mr President, scrap PIA, MAT, nationalisation of mines, fix the MAJOR ISSUES, and start delivering services to the people of this country. We need clean water, electricity, proper education, proper telecommunications, proper transparency, free markets and a whole bunch of other things, which you guys are just not doing! Zumanomics is broken because the underlying principles of it (so adequately expressed in the article) are just not present, and that is YOUR fault and your party's.

Stop allowing ministers and "public servants" doing business with the state. Where conflict of interest exists, so will corruption, and your government is pretty good at conflicting interests and corruption both! And yet you do nothing to fix the problem except 'talk', and you have engaged Nyanda to be your advisor. Why? Does he give you good advice?

But you won't will you? Why? Because you know you have been put where you are by a bunch of populist scum and they have you by the short and curlies. You are not really any better than they are, and I will continue to vote for someone else.

I hope the most recent by-elections in Cape Town are reflective of the general trend away from the likes of you and your ideology. I hope that more municipalities will move in that direction come February with the municipal elections.

Realistically this will not happen, but, I think lots of people are looking at you lot at the moment and saying "what a bunch of turds".

And good on ya for sponsoring the youth festival with funds from the presidential purse (twenty million was it?), where a convicted criminal was allowed to speak, that just added insult to injury.

You, sir, are of low morals

If development means cronies and corruption and double the cost, we must still have development. But can we please not be so greedy as to take all the money and develop nothing.

Going to give up your car house and 40 wife’s?
No?

See you and 15 000 of your cronies in SA alone is draining the money that was suppose to build these things, with no intend to stop.

Waffle some more, in the land of the blind the skew eyed cyclops with 10% vision is king.

OOOOOOOOOOOOH!

It all makes sense now.

The ANC wasn't being useless and wasting tax payers money. They weren't abusing the system to enrich themselves, their own families and their friends. They arn't hugely incompetant and unable to undertake simple tasks, let alone manage a multicultural country. They were just in the PLANNING stages. Now they're done with the planning stages they are into the action stages.

So when do I get my flying car? Because with 16 years of planning I want a damn flying car....or at least a jetpack!

There's a pothole about 300m from where I live. It must have been fixed more than 10 times in the last couple of months as every time it rains the hole is back and it's big. So instead of getting someone to do a proper job they probably give it to some BEE company and pay them for each time they have 'fixed' it wasting I dunno how much tax payers money.

the same people criticizing what he is saying are the same people moaning about the new roads "for the World Cup", new buses, roadworks, Gautrain, airports etc.

Government has quite a large infrastructure spend in progress and planned, and of course its not perfect, but simply moaning about moaning about moaning is pointless.
