Wouldn't it be better for Zille to challenge the minister in charge of Economic Development ( Ebrahim Patel ), or Trade and Industry Minister (Rob Davies ) or even Pravin Gordhan. I think we as citizens would get a more meaningful debate from there. It is already clear that Zuma hasn't got a clue.

Zille is still a politician and one smart enough to understand the implications of being seen to be debating a lower party functionary than the leader to leader debate.
Didn't Malema offer to debate her in the last local elections?
 
Clearly, in South African politics, intelligence is the missing link. Imagine having any of the European governments running SA. With all the cheap and easy to fool labourers and sooo many resources in the ground! What do you people expect from such a confrontation? I doubt Zuma will make more of a fool of himself then he already has done. And the worst part is, the vast majority of the population are intellectually even worse then he is. Which means they won't even comprehend when Zuma embarrasses him self. A sangoma or something will be a more worthy opponent. At least he will have some wodoo rules to stick to.

Do you realize how racist your post is? Are you suggesting Europeans are more intelligent and better educated then South Africans? Are you saying Zuma is a idiot? While I don't agree with many things he is saying or doing, I still respect him as the president of South Africa. Do you think the Madam will do a better job? She won't get the chance ever. Why not? She's obviously the better politician but black people won't vote for her because she's white .. which is discrimination on grounds of skin color and rather makes your post just as racist as his, not?

The reason Zuma declined is he knows he'll be outclassed in every way when facing Zille in a debate.
 
This countries democratic policy would not allow a debate like this so people can see for themselves. This democracy is in place to protect the cANCer.

Yes. Various sites/statistics can confirm this, Unesco being one example. We don't even make it to the 'top' 70% of countries.

Yes. Lets be honest, he is not the sharpest tool in the shed but he knows how to appeal to the people.

Why will he never enter into a debate? Because he does not have the capacity to do so, if I was him I would also decline.
Which provinces have the least corruption, nepotism & incompetence?

Why is it that gov wants to find and prosecute whistle blowers on corruption and ignore the corruption in the first place? Secrecy act should scare the living bejesus out of people and is indicative of a government trying to hide it's wrongs and going after those pointing it out instead. What is up with this acceptance of lack of accountability, corruption, incompetence & nepotism? Why is it that when people point these things out they are racist, coconuts or agents? Do you not want a society striving for the betterment of all citizens and encourages excellence.? Why must we settle for mediocre, the lowering of expectations & lowering of standards to the point where we are all dumb and poor?

I'm definitely a racist if I don't accept these things.
