Hi there

You may be wondering why we launched an “Ask MyBroadband” forum. The answer is simple: the forum will be used to ask the MyBroadband community for their feedback on various issues - in a more structured manner than the usual discussions.

One example is direct interaction between MyBroadband members and a high-level executive for a day, in an “Ask this CEO anything” thread.

There will be one thread every day, which will be of value to companies and MyBroadband members.

This is an experiment we look forward to trying out, and your feedback on the project is welcomed.

I think it would be great and perhaps a wonderful way to bring providers to book, especially when they see what their competition does when handling similar questions. But I'll guard my cards for now...

Yeah depends how honest they are as well. Some, like Gian from Afrihost, are masters of spin.

I don't know about the spin but Afrihost delivered what they promised. The new network is awesome. :)

Could we say yes, but the CEO or whoever is representing the company first has to summarize the company, their role in it and an interesting fact/event happening in their company and we can digress from there (just as a starting point to get the discussion going)?

He did deliver, but he did spin a lot. Moving out of the thread he started was not a good move, he should rather have asked the mods to step in when the personal threats were coming. (I think he said that was the reason he left the thread, not sure if it's true, was quite a while ago)

So many questions... so few CEOs whom we can trust

I would love to get the CEOs of Eskom and Telkom (and South Africa!?) to face the firing squad.

Unfortunately, these people are politicians first and customer-centric business people second. Everything they say could be construed as a lie, except when they claim another of their ilk is lying, in which case they -are- speaking the truth!

It used to be that Love made the world go round - now its just money, money, money and some power and then some more money.

The only way that consumers could force CEOs to produce honest products at an honest price with honest customer support would be through solidarity and total boycotts.
