April 16 (Bloomberg) -- Julius Malema, leader of the youth wing of South Africa’s ruling African National Congress, was involved in a car accident this week, which he claims was an assassination attempt, the Mail & Guardian reported, without citing anyone.

The crash happened after the tire of Malema’s Range Rover burst on a road north of Pretoria, the Johannesburg-based newspaper reported, citing police spokesman Vish Naidoo. Malema was en route to Johannesburg following an ANC Youth League conference in the northern town of Polokwane and was being escorted by the police VIP protection unit, it said.

Malema was not hurt and the two VIP police guards assigned to him have been replaced because he no longer trusts them, the newspaper said, citing an unidentified ANC Youth League person familiar with the matter.

And can somebody please explain to me how this d00s gets a blue light convoy, when it was made clear (by law!) that they're only for high ranking officials like the president and deputy president?

I have serious doubts Juliasshat is the president of anything, let alone the ANCYL, if he can't even manage a simple flat tyre. How this guy has gotten this far without already killing himself on a woodworking bandsaw is nothing short of a miracle.
