Aston Martin revealed the DBX with the Mercedes-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 packing 542 hp (404 kW) and followed this with an entry-level offering featuring a straight six.
We think Aston is cooking up a very hot version of the DBX which may pack a V12 delivering well over 600 hp but until then DMC has come to the party with the most powerful DBX offering on the market.
The result is a 796 hp (585 kW) Aston Martin SUV which should be more than enough grunt to challenge most super SUVs out there. This was achieved by installing a larger turbo loader, a sport filter, and a sport exhaust system.

Aston Martin is readying a more powerful version of its DBX SUV, at least according to a new teaser released today. “Change is coming,” the teaser reads. “Power talks. The world’s most powerful luxury SUV.”
‘Most powerful’. Huh. The current Aston Martin DBX uses AMG’s 4.0-litre biturbo V8 to punch out 542bhp and 516lb ft of torque, so bank on a figure a lot higher for whatever this new one will be called.
Indeed, Mercedes-AMG’s GLE 63 S uses the same 4.0-litre biturbo V8 to produce a heady 604bhp and 627lb ft of torque. As we discovered last year, that car is "stupidly fast": it’ll do 0-62mph in just 3.8s and top out at 175mph.

Aston Martin is preparing to reveal a hot new version of its DBX, which it says will be "the world's most powerful luxury SUV".
Scheduled for an unveiling on 1 February, the new model will be the range-topping performance version of the DBX promised by Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers last year.
The company has yet to disclose how much more potent than the standard DBX it will be, but a 600bhp-plus output is expected, given the existing model packs 542bhp.
One likely scenario is that the DBX 'S' – as it could be called, in line with traditional Aston Martin nomenclature – will take some 630bhp from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 running in the same state of tune as it does in Mercedes-AMG's GT 63 S super-saloon.
Previously, it was thought that the DBX could play host to the 6.0-litre V12 from its DB11 and DBS sibling models, but recently spotted prototypes hint at a less subtle engineering overhaul, and an official teaser video hints at a distinctive V8 growl.
The model will be introduced as part of a push to create a comprehensive family of DBX models, much like rival Porsche has done with the Cayenne. Currently, you can only purchase the Aston Martin DBX with an AMG-sourced engine but if reports are to be accurate, then this new DBX will make use of Aston Martin’s own twin-turbo V12.
Prototypes were caught testing last year with the soundtrack giving off some serious DBS vibes.

The firm has released a teaser video and a teaser image of the newcomer. Aston Martin says, “The next chapter of the DBX story is about to be told and new performance standards will be set. Are you ready for the world’s most powerful luxury SUV?”
The teaser video is titled “Change is Coming” and briefly shows a few details as well as a sound bite of what the engine sounds like.
As far as what power source will be found under the bonnet, is up for speculation. The standard Aston Martin DBX, which currently retails for R3 990 000, is powered by a Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine that packs 405 kW and 700 Nm. In all likelihood, Aston Martin will ramp up outputs even further but there have been rumours circulating that this potent DBX S might gain the twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 that powers the Aston Martin Superleggera which offers 534 kW and 900 Nm. This is it. The fastest, most powerful and ‘best handling’ Aston Martin DBX ever built. Aston Martin calls it the DBX707, but you can call it whatever you like because it’s got nearly seven hundred horsepower and will outrun pretty much any 4x4 on the road.
Unsurprisingly, the ‘707’ bit refers to PS, which equates to 697bhp from the uprated 4.0-litre, AMG-sourced biturbo V8 lurking under the bonnet. It also pumps out 663lb ft of torque, which is a smidge more than yer average volcano makes.
Acceleration and overall performance is suitably explosive. Aston reckons this new DBX will sprint from 0-62mph in 3.3s – quicker than a Lamborghini Urus and on par with a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT – and top out at 193mph. As anybody with even the most rudimentary grasp of fear will confirm, 193mph in a 2.2-tonne SUV is ‘enough’.
How, exactly, has Aston massaged out 155bhp more than a ‘regular’ V8 DBX? New ball-bearing turbos and a new engine map, basically. The V8 also gets a nine-speed ‘wet-clutch’ automatic gearbox better equipped to deal with that additional torque. Aston promises faster gearshifts compared to the old torque converter ‘box, and of course, better launches off the line.
Indeed, there’s a new version of the e-diff, able to deliver 100 per cent of the V8’s torque to the rear axle if required, calibrated for maximum pointiness. There’s a ‘Race Start’ mode, available in ‘GT Sport’ and ‘Sport+’ modes for full revisit-your-breakfast-choices launches.
It's not just a charging rhino, mind, because Aston has gone to some lengths to adjust the chassis. The basic air suspension remains, here featuring tweaks to the damper valving, spring volume and electric power steering. Basically, it’s tighter (less heave, pitch and body roll), more feelsome and agile, the latter courtesy of a revised active roll control system.
The brakes are new, and huge. Carbon ceramic 420mm front discs, 390mm at the back, allied to six-piston calipers. It shaves 40.5kg of unsprung weight, says Aston, hiding behind new 22in alloys (23s are an option).

It’s the second addition to the DBX range, positioned as a highly potent and dynamically enhanced alternative to top-rung rivals including the Bentley Bentayga S, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and Range Rover Sport SVR.
Aston CEO Tobias Moers told Autocar that it could ultimately make up 60% of overall DBX sales. "I see the high potential in the marketplace, he said, citing an unnamed rival car "that makes a lot of sales a year" and is "far too comfortable” for DBX 707 buyers.
Chief among the changes is a reworking of the DBX’s Mercedes-AMG-derived twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, from which Gaydon’s engineers have liberated an additional 155bhp and 148lb ft to take peak outputs to 697bhp (707PS) and 664lb ft. A bespoke tune and the introduction of ball-bearing turbochargers are among the most significant tweaks.
Efficiency isn’t hampered, however: the 707 scored 19.9mpg on the WLTP test.

Aston Martin DBX707 Revealed Packing 697 HP (520 KW) Twin-Turbo V8
The more potent Aston Martin DBX has been revealed and they have called it the DBX707.
Under the hood, you will find the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 but it has been tuned to push out 707 PS (hence the name) which equates to 697 hp or 520 kW. Torque is up to 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) which will allow the SUV to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds.
This power hike was achieved by adding a new pair of ball-bearing turbochargers along with a new engine calibration to make the most of the added boost. More air coming in requires better piping to get it out, so the DBX707 gains a completely new quad-exit active exhaust system that flows better while also giving occupants some delectable V8 noise when so desired.
All this grunt needs to be translated to the road properly and it seems they have done the necessary work by fitting the SUV with a new nine-speed wet-clutch gearbox with automatic and manual modes that allows for quicker shifts. Aston Martin CEO reckons this is the only performance SUV that can do a proper high-rev launch with “Race Start” mode shoving the SUV forward from 4,000 rpm.
Keep your foot buried and you will run all the way to 193 mph (310 km/h) which beats out all its luxury competitors.

Under the hood, you will find the familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 but it has been tuned to push out 707 PS (hence the name) which equates to 697 hp or 520 kW. Torque is up to 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) which will allow the SUV to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.3 seconds.
This power hike was achieved by adding a new pair of ball-bearing turbochargers along with a new engine calibration to make the most of the added boost. More air coming in requires better piping to get it out, so the DBX707 gains a completely new quad-exit active exhaust system that flows better while also giving occupants some delectable V8 noise when so desired.
All this grunt needs to be translated to the road properly and it seems they have done the necessary work by fitting the SUV with a new nine-speed wet-clutch gearbox with automatic and manual modes that allows for quicker shifts. Aston Martin CEO reckons this is the only performance SUV that can do a proper high-rev launch with “Race Start” mode shoving the SUV forward from 4,000 rpm.
Keep your foot buried and you will run all the way to 193 mph (310 km/h) which beats out all its luxury competitors.
