ASUS Eee Pad transformer

And add a stuck pixel smack in the middle of the screen to no 3's bleed... Mike, this was why your first one was replaced, right? Starting to think I should ask for my money back.

I need some advise; here's the deal:

After discovering this hot pixel, I've been using the TF as I normally would for the last day and a half, and am not noticing the hot pixel during normal use. BUT, I know it's there...

The dilemma is:
Everything else works fine (I'm not noticing the back light bleed either, but I know it's there, and I see it when I look for it), and I realy love this thing. Do I try a fourth sample and risk something else not working the way it should, or ask for my money back, and go for something else, like the Galaxy 10.1 (iPad is NOT an option, ever) ?

I would try and get a replacement, try and test in shop if possible. If you want to try Samsung 10.1 make sure its not 10.1v as it still doesn't have 3.1 and who knows if it will ever get it or even 3.2 coming out next week. Maybe a good idea would be to wait for the next shipment to land and then replace it be it refund now and buy again in a month's time or keeping it for another month.

I would request a replacement and give it a quick lookover while the courier is there. If good, swap and sorted else keep what you have a repeat process :)
I would not accept keeping a device with any issue. We pay a lot of of our hard earned cash over for our toys.

For me, 3rd time lucky. My 3rd one is 100%. Have no complaints and been using it a LOT since receiving it on Fri.

#2 and #3 were both perfect on delivery, and somehow developed screen issues after 2 or 3 days of use. I'm going to try and get a 16GB B60... replacement for my 32GB B50. If that one isn't perfect, I'm done.

If my #3 was dodgy I was going to do the same as you and go for a 16GB B60. Good move IMO.

Oooh the 3G models are spotted and priced, so Europe seems to be getting them this month.

I am still a happy customer with my WiFi unit as I dont want another 3G contract and the 5 Gig cim on my Cell phone is more than enough to keep my phone and tablet well fed, but for the people that was holding out for 3G its coming soon. My guess is that it will also be better quality than the current 32 gig models most people have.

Woot. I can't wait for this.

Incidentally, on the "betamax" analogy that came up earlier in this thread, I just saw the following story on Android Police: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/07/11/android-powered-tablets-take-34-of-the-global-market-in-q1/

That would seem to indicate that Android tablets are, at least, not in imminent danger of becoming a stillborn technology.

Yup that's what I paid. Westwood didn't have stock, so went to pavilion - they didn't even have the stock on the system cos it'd just arrived

Just checking; this is the Asus Eee Pad that we can use with a SIM card, right?

Can't wait to get the 3G version of this tablet. Either that or I'll get the Samsung 10.1 .

According to Asus, the 3G version will be out just before xmas. Thats according to the Asus fb page....

Well prices and Web orders in Europe opening up so its landing sometime this month in EU.

On a different note, wonder when we be getting the 3.2 update as I see its released for Xoom WiFi models yesterday. Was expecting it this week didnt know it was gonna be beginning of the week. GPL updates pushed out last week for 3.2 updates.

I hope there is some sort of fix for the keyboard lag in the stock browser. Opera doesn't suffer from Keyboard lag which is great but its slow and not as intuitive.

I just received the padded version of the CaseCrown vertical messenger bag and it fits the TF with dock very comfortably.

Lots of pockets and zips and extra space for a second TF or a netbook. I fit my charger, wifi hotspot, portable speaker, some documents, a book or 2 and I still have space. Very cleverly designed. Its brilliant!

I got it from Take2

Almost got happy when I saw a Update message on my Eee Pad now. Thought it was the 3.2 update, pity its only a update to fix the Battery issue on the Dock :(

It's nice to have 5.1 surround sound around your queen size bed while you remotely control your projector in your bed wirelessly with your TF :)

Just bought a midd(ish?)range projector from my work for 1k, 1024 x 768res not too bad, while I save for a 1080p projector. I've been looking at getting a plasma / LCD but I think a projector is the way for me. The amount of value you get out of a bulb more than makes up for how much they cost, I think.

I use an HD projector in a dedicated game/cinema room dude. 120" screen.
If you want help deciding on projectors, screens, etc then let me know. I went through the pain already :)
