ASUS Eee Pad transformer

I am having a problem- sometimes when I type a url into the address bar, I go straight to the google website- the URL I typed is. correct.
I have searched and there are a few people having this issue.

Any ideas on a solution?

Never noticed.... but then again I use Dolphin on my device.

Oh and word is we will get ICS within the next 3-4 week so I would not stress too much about it.

is there any updated news on a release date?

Yeah Feb/March

We are informed that the ICS upgrade for TF101 will be ready within the Feb/March 2012 period. You will be able to receive the upgrade notification via FOTA once we have a confirmation date.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter

I rather them fix the problems than ship a rushed product. Its not like I really miss anything on Honeycomb. I do feel different about 2.* on the phones.

Couldn't agree more, but I'm still fighting the disgust at being left in the lurch for 4.0 because they brought out a new tablet and decided to prioritize it's development rather than the TF101 (which was touted as their ICS tab)

Nothing new....

My first post on the forums..but WOW! Got the ICS update on my tf101 this morning. Installed and the immediate feedback is the tab is so much faster and smoother..more updates to follow..HUGE SMiLE

Update seems good.... Interface and UI improvements are excellent. Just found that some apps are not very happy and I get quite a few force closes. Reinstall of them did help.

Noted with a NOTE

Update seems ok so far.
Typing is definitely less laggy.
Miss my Honeycomb wallpapers tho

Btw how do u see the whole year in the stock calendar? Its driving me nuts

My TF needed to be turned on 4 times since the update. Every time I come back after a couple of hours it's off. The battery is draining very fast too.
How do I go back to Honeycomb?

Apparently I'm not alone

Your combination of installed applications is causing that. I would very highly recommend doing a factory reset and loading your apps afresh. Do remember that the internal storage gets wiped during the reset. It becomes like out of the box

Factory reset & install fresh apps is the answer to your problems.

Think of ICS as you just installed Windows 7 on a old Windows XP PC without re installing the applications. In theory you should not have to do this as the OS is suppose to handle it no problem, but there is one or 2 idiot developers that did not stick to proper coding and causing this dilemma. To find the offending app is a pain in the backside, hence the advice above.

If you really want to go backwards the only solution would be to root, and flash a custom Honeycomb ROM, but that will have the exact same issues unless you reset as well.

Edit: If it really is a problem with the OS: That is why I am still on 3.2.
Rule no 1 on updates, never ever do a major update before/on a weekend, if there is a real problem the earliest anyone with power can look at it is on Monday :)

I'm loath to try a factory reset as members on other forums tried that and it didn't work

I updated my TF101 with ICS yesterday. After a successful OTA update I decided to wipe the device from the option on cold boot screen (pwr & vol dn). It has been my experience that sometimes major upgrades have a less chance of being problematic when provided a clean slate as it were. Anyway I thought since this is a major upgrade I would wipe the memory and start with a 'factory fresh' installation of ICS. I backed up all my important data onto an SD card prior to wiping my TF101 and proceeded with the wipe. All seemed fine at first, and I spent several hours starting to re-acquire the apps that I wanted to reload from the Android Market. Today however the tablet has randomly rebooted at least twice (that I can tell).

This afternoon I decided to work a little more on re-installing my applications and I took the tablet out of it's case (with keyboard dock attached) and the top (back of case where the ASUS logo is) seemed slightly warm to the touch.. when I opened the tablet I noticed that it seemed to be stuck on the boot screen. I pressed the power button briefly and it did not have any effect, then I held in the power button and that seemed to do the trick, the screen went blank for a moment and then it proceeded to boot normally.

I worked on it for about an hour and then set it aside for about a 1/2 hour while I was taking a phone call. After finishing the call I opened it up again and it was just finishing rebooting again. Not sure what is going on, any ideas? I have owned my EEE pad for almost a year and I have never noticed the back getting even slightly warm even after being plugged into the charger overnight. I am not sure if the warmth was caused by something going on with the processor (stuck in some sort of a loop) or by the battery."

Thanks man I am loving this, has changed my Xoom.
Well on the other side, I just saw that SPB Shell 3D was available to install on my tablet. I bought it ages ago when I use to run Stock and hated Sense with a passion.

Anyway its not to bad, and certainly a hell of a lot more responsive than Stock Honeycomb.

Here are some screenies, by no way a finished desktop but it shows the jest of things

There are loads more that I did not show like the Weather page and Note board that have free floating Sticky notes also lacking is the 3D like animations. Defenatly liven up things a little and give it that extra aaah element.

Again it makes me wonder if a rd party can make 3D animation so smooth WTH is wrong with the Android developers that they can not get it right.
