ASUS Striker II

X48 isn't looking like its coming out anytime soon to the masses.
Get whatever you can really, X38-DQ6 is a good board as well...
But since you have to buy Asus I have no idea

damnit... why does intel have to screw me over like this :( I want my X48 right now...

Still haven't gotten the credit passed. And now on top of everything, the supplier doesnt have the Maximus Formula in stock :( (Sold the last one today). The Striker II is only going to be in stock on the 26th of March (WTF???). In the mean time I am getting major withdrawl symptoms, and there doesnt seem to be any way to get anything... well here is good luck to me actually getting to test my newsly obtained 8800GT :/ I would love to get a X48 as from rumors it runs a bit cooler and gets better overclocks...

hhhm, well any case, ended up getting a Maximus Formula... and actually enjoying it... seems to be quite a decent board.

Only grudge I have with it is lack of DC CPU Fan control...

I have a Zalman CNPS 9500 LED which perfectly fits my cooling needs, but doesnt have a PWM fan, so it runs at full speed all the time :(... At the moment I have connected it to a chassis connector, and just manually set it to 60% in the BIOS, but this is far from an ideal solution. Firstly the BIOS moans that there is no CPU fan connected, and secondly, the speed doesnt adjust according to load...

Is there any way to connect the DC fan to the PWM and have it automatically adjust CPU fan speed according to CPU temp? I was thinking of something along the lines of Speedfan, but just wanted to get some kind of confirmation if this would work.
