Let me get right at it. I moved in with my uncle in Pretoria and his ISP is ATEC. The speed is a decent 6meg up and down and is usually full speed. However, once we go past 60-80 gigabytes of data then we get throttled, we usually get throttled to 60 KB/s but now they have hit an all time low of 15 KB/s.

Luckily fibre is being installed soon so we can get rid of this useless ISP. I have never been so happy to go back to telkom. Good Riddance ATEC

As you can see my wonderful speeds of ATEC.

I'm with ATEC fibre on a 3Meg uncapped line and have received a number of warnings of exceeding the fair use policy. Not clear what the threshold is but it appears to be very low (~40Gigs). Not sure how they can justify this. One welcomes the trend towards faster internet at more affordable prices but the gain is all but wasted when it is throttled (on top of shaping). I'm sure their limit is more draconian than their competitors. MyBB should do a survey of what ISPs set the threshold to.
