Attachment to people..

I moved around a lot when I was in school. Consequently I don't get attached to people. People come and go through life. It's more sad than prick though.

I was going to say the exact same thing!!!! ...except the part about more sad than prick - I didn't understand that part....

Atleast you worked for someone good and someone that you admired, you learnt from him and now he has to go...

Such is life, atleast he left a good impression on you.;)
Another thing, chances are that his replacement will not be as good as he was, but dont compare them, it will just make it worst.

In response to Peder saying people like us look like pricks.

Oh, yeah, makes sense. The thing is that people just don't understand. I cried when I left my first school. Cried when I left the second. Third. Fourth. By number 15 who cares? People come, people go; you become desensitised....

A friend of mine also was in 5 high schools and she turned out just fine.

No you're not :p :D

It's a matter of perspective. People who cry because a co-worker leaves (If you're friends you will see each other again socially and if not who cares?) or are happy spending 50 years stagnating in the same place confuse me.

I get attached to people way too easily. My boss just resigned and is emigrating and I'm pretty heartbroken. Almost choked up when saying my last goodbye to him.

But even in general, once there's a new person in my life, I find it extraordinarily hard to let go of them.

Is that normal?

It’s also important to consider background. Often care can be interpreted as weakness and exploited. An inscrutable external aspect (no matter what the real feelings) immunises against this. After a time it would engender callousness (survival trait). Not everyone can afford the luxury of wearing their feelings on their sleeve. Doesn’t necessarily make them abnormal.
