Audi Fourways RS4 write off..

Owner claims from insurance. Insurance claim from dealer,
You probably right. But the owner might want to claim directly to keep his insurance record clean.

if they do have a legal claim against him based on his employment contract
They have a claim and it doesn't depend on the contract. If the employer wants to go after him and he can prove the GTi thing then the idiot is going to get nailed hardcore for gross negligence.

He might want to keep it clean, but at the end of the day, this is what insurance is for. Even if he goes direct, insurance will get involved as the car is a write-off. But I am pretty sure they would have preferred to not get involved...

This actually comes as no surprise...

BMW Centurion takes the cars around the block for a 'test drive', and the final stretch to the workshop entrance is a 150m stretch of road. I have may times almost been run over by some techie taking a 530d (ha ha, turn this upside down and reverse to see what I think of them) or similar up the road and testing every single safety and traction control system in the car!

Was thinking of writing them a letter but maybe this is a better example!

Could you imagine if it gets out - and Audi doesn't cough up, no one will take their cars to Audi Fourways! (Thats where I service my Audi )

The service will just take 3-4 days extra to complete!

This is also where I service my car!!

My car recently went in for its 60k service, when I went to collect it I noticed that 40kms had been driven...

I asked him WHERE?! I thought it was simply around the block and back? He told me it was necessary as it was a major service - my ass...

Will call the service manager and ask him if its true... Don't think he'll confirm it though but its worth a try :D

Should be interesting, considering that when you leave your car with them you sign something saying you don't hold them responsible.

Strange it hasn't been in the papers, wonder if Audi is paying to keep it out. (if it is true).

I reckon they're probably going to tell the owner to claim from his insurance. :o

Solution is simple. Tell the manager that you don't give permission for anybody to drive your car.

Also, what you can do is to fit a tracking device to your expensive car, which will tell you whether its performance exceed a set limit, and it will send an SMS to your cellphone.

I got this mail yesterday, with this write up...

Vehicle was in for a service at Audi. 2 technicians had taken the car
for a test drive, and met up with a fellow also testing a VW polo GTi.
They decided to have a shoot out in a 60km/h residential area of
Lonehill. The driver of the RS4 obviously had no idea how much power he
had at his disposal - went straight thru a T-junction, thru a wall and
was stopped by a tree. Eye witnessness say that he started braking about
40m before the stop sign (+-60m before the point of impact) so one can
only imagine what sort of speed he was doing.

That looks exactly the same as what I did to my Forestter a few weeks ago :o

I remember taking on a RS4 (the station wagon like one) in my S2000... he just about left me standing :(

Odd

I manage to keep with them in 1st and 2nd gear my RunX ... but 3rd they start pulling me.
