Autopage Cellular = VERY BAD

These people are so frustrating and stupid. I see under their website under upgrades that they are offering an MTN topup100 reduced rate contract for R3.00 a month. Now, is it unreasonable to assume that they would be able to offer me that on a new contract, as I know from experience that iTalk and MTNSP will do that with their similar lists.?

So I go into their one outlet and ask about this. They don't know what I am talking about at first, so the one guy asks his friend and he doesn't either, but then I insist that these things are on their site, he then proceeds to tell me that those specials are only for June, and that I must come back then.

I go home and look on their website again, to find that the specials are from the 9th May top the 9th June.
Now I phone their customer care line and speak to a sales consultant. He doesn't know what I'm talking about either and has to go onto their website to try and find this. He finds it and then tells me that those are only for upgrading clients. Ok, I get it, but I then ask why they cannot offer something like this or if there was anything similar for new clients and all he can say is because they are for existing clients renewing their contracts.........

People are so thick...

Taking out a new contract is different from upgrading an existing contract.

In the past they would disadvantage existing contracts by offering the best deals to new contracts. This is kind of a reversal on that. And in some regards makes more sense. You are an existing subscriber, and in terms of retention and rewarding for loyalty they give you a good deal. Dont see why they have to offer the same deal for new contracts.

Why should they? They offering it on existing contracts, they way i see it, its a retention incentive, and loyalty reward.

The way I see it is they should offer it to everyone. They should be wanting to recruit more customers.

Does anyone know on any network whether there is a cheaper option that is possible?

I asked them to apply the subsidy that I would get when I usgraded as a monthly discount on my subscription and they said this was impossible.

Guess they lied.

Strange, how can the subscription for MTN100 + nokia1208 be R5pm, but on MTN50 it is R19. You get R50 more talk time for R14 less.

I wouldn't take a phone from Altech Autopage if it was for free . I am so pissed off with them , when I see that name I freak out .
