Where do you guys get ... ?

I've checked pretty much everywhere and maybe I'm fussy, but nothing really suits my needs at all :/ For those that had made - who did you use and how much was it (Johannesburg)?

This seems close to what I want, but I'd prefer 3 adjustable shelves in the center and no larger than 1.6m. Cupboards with shelves in would be even better than the drawers as well. I'll need to call them tomorrow if this is possible



This has the 3 shelves (doesn't seem adjustable though) and doesn't appear to be available locally

I bought one at lotters pine. Decent price and you can stain it yourself for the colour you need. Www.lotterspine.com.

Mine has 2 doors at each side, with 3 shelves in the middle. Code 370294 on their website.

No, sadly not adjustable. Think it will be difficult to get 1 that is adjustable,as it affects the strength, etc.

Modifying them to be adjustable would not be a big deal though.

I'm not a DIY person - I'll ruin it.

That said I may need get a custom one made. Strange though as I don't think my needs/wants are over the top at all

Our needs seem basic, but in the context of most users having a HTIB.... 2 power amps, a process, bluray player, ps3, and a centre isn't actually basic. Lol

That's what I had before they had Blu Ray - 6 racks and all were used.

I've toned down though and I'm happy with only my processor and power amplifier showing, because I think they're pretty good looking A Blu Ray, PS4, HTPC or anything else can be hidden in the cupboard

Also, I'm probably going to be running 2 or 3 power amplifiers at some stage

I've also been looking for a decent stand, and couldn't find one...

So instead I'm going to make up some "floating" shelf units and have my equipment on there instead.

Shelves are adjustable on the shelf and in the cupboard - which means I could take one our and put my media server as well. Should I get another piece of equipment, I can put it in the other cupboard - so effectively I could have 5 appliances in total and have 2 hidden

If I had to do one now would probably go to Lanark.

The stuff I've seen in the shops is not worth the money they want.
I've seen stuff in the shops going for R4k, when all it is is chipboard wrapped in a specific wood type of veneer.

For R2k, I can buy all the wood i need for the project (and it will be proper hardwoods), and then the time to make the item. It will be the way I want it to be, made to my specifications etc...
