I work 10-12 hours a day so then only the Fridge is running. I don't have a TV and when I get home I'm on my PC with 27" LED screen.

I was surprised that it was so little but I moved in December and it started off at R32.

So me electricity usage rose by 35%

4 Adults (3xfemale, so scale water and heat accordingly), pool pump~5hrs, domestic&gardener, borehole&irrigation. Solar geysers & 95% LED lighting to bring down consumption. Downside of a big property!

2 fridges, freezer, tv that I almost never open/turn on. I microwave maybe something once a month. Make coffee twice a week maily over weekends. Don't really eat at home.

Laptop that gets charged and printer that is on. I also charge my phone every night.

I've found that as my halogen bulbs pop and I don't replace them, my electricity bill has dropped considerably. I do need to go out and buy some LED units to replace them, but it has been interesting to note that as it gets darker in my house )) the need to buy more pre-paid units has dropped rather significantly.

LED bulbs are a lot more expensive initially, but considering the the economy from decreased electrical usage as well as not having to replace the "normal" bulbs so often, it does appear to be a no brainer.

I have no idea what it is, have not had an electricity account since Aug 2013 - gave up fighting the good fight trying to get one. Using gas stove (19 kg every 6 months) , low presure solar geyser, 2 old pc's and a (laptop24 x7), no tv and no heat for winter, one bar fridge and 1 x 1980 toploader.

R1200 at present on prepaid. That is with LED lighting in the house and a solar geyser. Sadly the house has two geysers and the washing machine runs once a day. In the summer it was R800 to R900.

Mine is +/- R275-300, microserver + cooking + geyser on 1.5+1 hr per day. Weird.. my energy cost is about R50 bucks cheaper in Centurion compared to Sunninghill albeit i use more.

Only have the following connected to the electricity grid. Geyser(switch it off during summer but now since it is winter takes longer to warm so I leave it on as I don't want to wash my hands in freezing cold water), 2 fridges, lights and notebook. In total my spending with network charge +service charge amounts to R900 per month(actual usage is R400 if u take away the R500 network+service charge.

530kwh summer vs 700kwh winter. Family of four.

No pool but we do have an energy hungry tumble dryer that sees a lot more use in the winter - on the plus side it does heat the house nicely.

How many units = 1 KwH on the prepaid electricity meters?

I presume 1? Then we use 250-300 a month. 3 adults, three bedroom town house. One PC, one laptop, one 40" TV and a media centre for DVD/Blu ray/External HD compat.

Geyser is on 24/7 set to around 70 C.
