Axxess 10mb issue

Hi,

Wonder if someone can assist.?

Why is it that whenever I do a speedtest on my 10mb line I never get speeds higher than 7mb but I'm paying for a 10mb line. I do understand that that you'll never really get 10mb but 7mb does not seem right.?

I've done port resets, reboot router and I get the same result. I also believe my noise levels on the line itself is great and I shouldn't have any issues.

First of all do a test on a wired connection directly to the router and make sure no other devices on your network are using bandwidth.

Then, grab a real ISPs account like crystal web or Web Africa and do a speed test with that.

Also, make sure your line is actually syncing at 10Mbs in your modem.

Same here. News servers run at 6mb max speed. trying Crystal Web now but not much of an improvement tbh. Line i s syncing at 10mb.

Ok, so I'm quite pissed off now. After my original post I had sent Axxess Lady my ADSL number so that they can test as requested above. She replied back to me saying that their side is fine.

After a week long of testing my line and getting same result as my original I decided to sign up for a chrystalweb 1 gig free account. Setup my router and started a speedtest. I am shocked at the result. All tests were between 8.5 and 9mb. I have NEVER received this from Axxess and they're telling me all is ok on their side. BS Axxess. I'm paying for a 10mb line and don't get more than 7mb and the speed tests are usually flapping up and down while the test is running whereas the CW test is a constant 8.5 or 9mb.

Axxess you guys are SUPER dodgy!

It was my solution too..... I am now using their 7mb Uncapped Premium Account .... better value than a 10MB offering that doesn't sync fast enough for 10mb, but now slow enough for 4mb......
