Axxess Mobile has Data Rollover!!!

As your data is exhausted the data from the previous month will be added to your current data first, thereafter the rollover data from the month before that is added and so forth.
 So does that mean the new month's data gets used first, then the previous month's data?

The difference between us and Afrihost is that our Mobile Data is cheaper (taking into account that their Double Mobile Data Promo will eventually come to an end).
AH is still cheaper though. Your reasoning would only be valid if these were contracts where I was tied in for x months. But as I can go wherever I please whenever I want - the AH deal is still cheaper and I seldom have data to rollover. The data rollover is still cool though, and if I ever upgraded to a mobile package where I wasn't using all my data then this would definitely be something to look into.

Good luck with the mobile internet - nice to see more players in the market :).

That sucks and not worth smiling about.

Should be First in, First Out.

Ok I got confirmation from the Axxess call-center that "First in, First Out" or any other combination does not really matter.

Example: If you have accumulated 1.5GB over the past 3 months and need to use the entire amount this month then you can do it.

I think this is very fair ;)

It means however that every three months you have to use all your data, otherwise the oldest rollover data is lost. Difficult to control, I prefer no rollover at lower cost.

Any launch special deals (like Afrihost's free modem), or give away for MyBB users?
Pushing to hard? :)

Hi pozmans,

We are run as completely separate companies ;)

The difference between us and Afrihost is that our Mobile Data is cheaper (taking into account that their Double Mobile Data Promo will eventually come to an end). We also have a 3 month data roll over, a first for SA. So if you don't use it, you won't lose it.

Technically you DO lose it after 3 months.

We are running a competition where you can win 1 of 5 Android Tablets plus a years worth of data. Visit www.axxess.co.za/mobile to enter and to view our launch promo's that will be available to the public on the 1st of September.

Hi sajunky, our rollover policy reads as follows: Should you not use all of your purchased data within a month (1st to last day of each month); the unused data will carry over to the following month for a period of 3 months. As your data is exhausted the data from the previous month will be added to your current data first, thereafter the rollover data from the month before that is added and so forth. Data carried over and not used within 3 months will fall away at the end of month 3.

Nobody who has read and understands the policy will fall for this and the ignorant that fall for it will be disgusted when reality dawns.

I was here and missed, now entered. :)
Regarding advertising rollover so strong, I am afraid, you will upset many customers and I will be the first one to complain if I don't win tablet. ;)

Having said so, you have yet to match current Vodacom contract (R99 2GB+2GB-night). The same terrible rollover policy and all the time fear of OOB, it is why looking elsewere...

Surely it should be that the data you accumulate first, is used first.

Jan: 500mb rollover (x)
Feb: 200mb rollover (y)

Ideally: In March I use up all my data and start using x first.
You're saying: In March I use up all my data and start using y first.

Correct. In March:
If you don't use all current allocation, you will lose 'x'. 'y' will be forwarded to the next month.
If you use all current allocation, it will start depleting 'y'. 'x' will start depleting only when 'y' is finished.

Ideally: 'x' depleted first, then 'y', then current allocation.

@The Axxess Lady: This would be the point at which you explain the reason for your policy being structured the way it is ;).

Havent bothered to read their policy, but logic dictates that you will use the roll-over data from the month farthest away (in your example, January's data), thus closest to expiration first. Then use February's data once January's data is finished. Then only will you use March's data.

Is this not how it works? If not, then for once I am glad they have the silly debit order policy stopping me from signing up for this crap.

I don't get what the big deal is. The rollover in my opinion isn't there for the constant user that doesn't use their bandwidth every month. The way i see it is should you maybe not use all your bandwidth in a month by some sheer miracle - it's cool, you can use it up next month. Following the industry standard of using last in first out, kinda sucks but we shouldn't be flaming them like they are the bad guys here...
