Axxess Mobile has Data Rollover!!!

I don't get what the big deal is. The rollover in my opinion isn't there for the constant user that doesn't use their bandwidth every month. The way i see it is should you maybe not use all your bandwidth in a month by some sheer miracle - it's cool, you can use it up next month. Following the industry standard of using last in first out, kinda sucks but we shouldn't be flaming them like they are the bad guys here...

Industry standard my arse.

Vodacom used to be FIFO as well until a while back.

It's a way of saying you have rollover without actually offering it. Marketing bull****.

It's not flaming. If you want to promote your company and it's services on a forum - then it seems only normal for people to question & discuss it. This isn't mylittlepony.com where you can get away with people glossing over technicalities. Maybe they can see their mistake and correct it & use this platform as a means to improve their service & provide something that takes a chance by deviating from the 'industry-standard'.

The silence from Axxess on the issue is a bit annoying though. Maybe they're not prepared to discuss the issue or change their policy.

But do they do it now? Nope. I am no expert though, just voicing my opinion.
Are there other providers that still use FIFO for their data? I know since I've had a cell contract in 2005, Vodacom has always shafted me with my Free Minutes of being LIFO for 6 months.

I hope they will be revising rollover policy, or at least stop advertising. However reailty check gives me indication that having two sister companies in the same market segment doesn't make sense. So it looks like one sister company (Afrihost) is tailored for supplying honest and good value service to the well informed user, and the other one (Axxess) is going to follow false advertising Vodacom practice on unsuspecting user. Sort of planned business diversity, offering the same services to the different kind of user. Good guy and bad guy practice...

You might be correct with your conspiracy theory. Afrihost are very quick to answer questions here. Axxess are just ignoring the question now. Communication sucks. I'm not even interested anymore.

To be fair to The Axxess Lady, she had already answered question in her reply to ginggs, so everything is clear. If this matter is refered to the board room and addressed properly, I am interested. Lets wait and see what happen.

Yeah - I would just have liked an explanation for why they chose to do it that way. I'm interested in companies doing something differently. Using the previous months data first is a kick in the beachballs are fun at the beach.

They were hoping you would not ask about the carry over policy.:D

Here’s an illustration of how Axxess' Mobile Data Rollover Policy will benefit you:

axxess_rollover.jpg

This client has been allocated his 2 Gigs of monthly data. He has 1.87 Gigs of unused data left from the previous month, which has now rolled over into Rollover Month 1. Should he finish his 2 Gigs of monthly data in the current month, he will start using Rollover Month 1’s Data.

Should he only use 1 Gig of his 2 Gigs of allocated monthly data at the end of the current month, the remaining 1 Gig will rollover into Rollover Month 1, and the 1.87 Gigs will fall back into Rollover Month 2. Data not used will continue falling back 1 Rollover Month until it reaches Rollover Month 3. In the unlikely event that it is not used by the end of Rollover Month 3, it will finally fall away, but will then again be replaced by the Rollover Data from Rollover Month 2. In essence, unused data is moved one space (Rollover Month) back until it falls away at the end of Rollover Month 3.

It might seem a bit complicated at first, but in our opinion still far better than losing your unused data at the end of each month ;)

LIFO explain it easier, not complicated at all. However it is difficult to control, as from the user point of view it looks as follows: every three months you have to use all your data if you don't want to lose a bit. In other words what you allowed for rollover it only postponed to expire, as recovery is not practical. When you try to avoid losing data, you must be very careful to not go into OOB shark area.

I don't even ask about OOB rates, as it is carefully crafted to work together. LIFO rollover is there, as LIFO leads to OOB.

I expressed already that I do prefer no rollover with lower prices. All I can tell you that you are wrong and above explain it.

Hi sajunky,

No need to worry about the much feared OOB rates, as we do not offer OOB data. Axxess Mobile Clients are capped when they reach their threshold and are then able to Top-Up from their Client Control Panel or Mobile Control Panel on their Smartphones, so no surprise bills ;)

One positive aspect, then maybe Axxess do not deserve negative publicity from the beginning. Lets win tablet now. :)

I am waiting for current MTN contract to run out to move to Axxess

Hi Beesboer,

Are you referring to a data contract with MTN? Just a reminder that our SIM cards are Data only, not voice. Please Private Message me if you have any questions.
