Axxess - Need I say more...

WUPS - sorry to you too lol... I meant Rendier!! And ditto on the setup - I have the same - but 2x 5gb 1xdo3 and 1x5 extra ;)

No worries. I am in need more local bandwith though. I've learned to pace myself with 5gigs international but I can really do with another 50gigs of local a month.

That sure is a record!!! Thumbs up to Axxess as well. I don't think there could be other ISPs around that would do the same.

Would like to hear what you d/loaded for the month - please post back here :D :D

Sup mate...

My downloads consist mainly of Complete Series, Docs, Movies and Games... and one or two porno's LOL...

I see alot of people are asking how it's possible... well I use a download manager and have 2 rapidshare and one megashare accounts... My download list at the moment has 756 files waiting to be downloaded so I download 24/7... then whilst the downloads are going im still browsing and uploading alot aswell. The 4MB line also gets activated at 7 sometimes so that is a full hour earlier which gives an extra 1.32GB every day or when its activated.

At the moment I have 6 Terabytes and one External Terabyte for taking to friends etc.

I had my first connection in 2003 and since then I have filled 800 DVD's with stuff that is hidden away... and then of course the 7 Terabytes of stuff.

You can never have enough things to download mate... lol

I have never ever used a seed to download anything... all either HTTP or Rapidshare or Megashares.

Cheers

Or Axxess's usage totals are up the creek which could be bad news for people with regular (capped) accounts!
Axxess, let's hear it from the horse's mouth - how is it possible to get over 800Gb per month on a line that is throttled to 384 during the day!? Your stats on the site show all the top 10 users over 760Gb for the month!

1 384kbit/s 873 GB
2 512kbit/s 870 GB
3 384kbit/s 821 GB
4 384kbit/s 819 GB
5 384kbit/s 814 GB
6 384kbit/s 793 GB
7 384kbit/s 780 GB
8 384kbit/s 775 GB
9 384kbit/s 769 GB
10 384kbit/s 767 GB

And Rendier, are you dodging my questions about whether you are on news servers or torrents? If so, why is it top secret? Just curious.

Only logged in now again so not dodging... I answered in your own thread... but to mention it here...

HTTP sites, Rapidshare and Megashares.

+1, thanks...
I'm a little confused cos you seem to indicate that you get an extra 1.3 gig when they open the lines an hour earlier...
1.3 gig an hour x12 = 12 gig a day plus the bits when it's slower...

How does that ever reach nearly 30 gig a day?
Anyway, I won't argue, just curious.

Sup man...

Not entirely sure how I manage it but if I had to take my folder with the months worth of downloads in it it's almost spot on to what they say I have done on the server... so I really can't tell you how I do it but rather that I am doing it...

I get 1.67GB a hour... it's just that one hour that I sometimes get earlier that I manage 1.32GB...

Hope this helps.

Here is my last couple of days downloading:

Date: Online: Uploads: Downloads: Total:

2009-09-19 23:55:27 689.27 31718.38 32407.65
2009-09-20 23:35:38 732.36 34030.80 34763.16
2009-09-21 24:10:41 404.31 18980.61 19384.91

Cool, thanks Rendier - I understand how it's done now - with a Rapid account - their servers are pretty fast. I wonder if they have local presence or if it's down to multiple threads...

ok my bad, wrote that post far too early in the morning. 4mbps will give you a max of 1.8GB per hour, but i still have to point out that you would have to be running that 4 mb line as fast as it can go 24hrs a day in order to get to 864GB in 20 days. I would have to say that you most likely experienced the same thing that i did for the first week or so that you had the account... Axxess didn't drop my line speed during the day for +/- a week. here are my new calcs:

1.8GB per hour x 12 hours x 20 days = 432GB
1.8GB per hour x 24 hours x 8 days = 345.6GB
384 / 4096 x 432GB = 40.5GB

Total download over 28 day month = 818.1GB

640kbps = 4.8MB per minute

288MB per hour x 24 hours x 28 days = 189GB

Therefore the total throughput on the 384 uncapped+ line in a 28 day month would be 1007.1GB assuming it was running full tilt both up and down at the rated speeds and time that Axxess has indicated.

Personally i am doing approximately 550-650GB a month using rapidshare, torrents and about 20% of the time nothing or drastically reduced speed for online gaming.

I have to agree with the whole point of you post though, Axxess is definately the bees knees in my books. Very little downtime and great support (i have called them at 2 am before and had a problem resolved immediately); not to mention an absolutely awesome product... and no... I don't know the owners ;)

Sorry, I didn't want you to get so personal - I wanted to know total GB's downloaded in September, not what you where downloading. Thanks for the info anyway. ;)

What do the Rapidshare and Megashare accounts cost you a month??

All the movies and series are not pirated ofcourse... it's freeware im downloading ;-)

Depends on the exchange rate... Rapid is about R120 and megashares for a 6 month account is R250... can't beat that deal... no download limit on Megashares.

Don't suppose you can mega shares your password :D

Tell me Rendier, whats to stop us setting up a megashares account between say 10 of us for moderate use? Or perhaps x days of the month each? It should work?

Only thing that might stop you is your IP... if you have an IP that changes all the time then you can't lose... I often share my rapidshare account...

Should be fine... I mean I have downloaded 4.3 Terrabytes off my Megashares account... got it last year... and no email or bitching from them... suppose im a toddler compared to the US boys that have 100MB lines :-)

Rapidshare uses cookies to track user access and while you can download from any ip, if you attempt to download simultaneously from two different ip's the download will not work on the person who attempts to download while someone else is downloading. They track these multiple access attempt and simply kill your account if you do it too often. Be warned, sharing account details is all fine and dandy, but be very carefull to specify who can download when and at what time or you going to lose your account.
