A quick little rage and question. Axxess DSL . I went and got myself thier 4MBPS DSL Bundle and took the fixed IP option. Now comes the the cache their website says you need to have an L2TP Compatible router to use the Fixed IP Which I do. My problem is tat I o not think their technical staff have the technical ability to help me set it up as With the current billion I have the L2TP connection works fine but that is not what i want as I would prefer to use my mikrotik for well obvious reasons primarily the better NAT handling, built in proxy an better firewall and QOS rules.

So is there anybody in this entire community that woudnt mind giving me a spot of help to get this setup sometime after 5:00 PM today..... Axxess say it cannot be done with a microtik router but it can be done with somethign as simple as a billion. It's a BS story that when they say it all I hear is them say Uhhhhhhh we dont know how to do it.

Thanks All
Peace out

The L2TP connection requires tunnel authentication and the ability to pass the shared secret. Mikrotik currently does not support tunnel authentication with shared secret. Found this out the hard way. Check the Mikrotik forums, the guys have been asking for it for years. The Mikrotik doesn't comply fully with the RFC standard it seems.

Axxess is right in this case, plenty of routers that can do L2TP, but most missing the shared secret part... so nothing BS bout their story at all.
