Axxess Uncapped, anyone willing to split 3-ways?

The basic idea:

I'm looking for two other people to go 3-ways with me for Axxess's Uncapped Satellite at R900p.m. I cant afford to pay for the full month. One can get +-250Gb if they're willing to schedule and download during the time they have the account. Pretty good deal to me :)


The rules are as follows:

(1) Everyone will be required to pay one month in advance as a deposit. So R600 for the first month, R300 p.m. thereafter. This is for everyone's protection, as no one wants to carry the bill when someone drops out. It also allows us time to find another person to join in. You will still have access in that last month.

(2) You will have access to the account for 10 days each month. Pass-over of the account must happen on the 1st, 11th, or 21st of the month. The exact time, if an issue, can be negotiated personally.

(3) I will handle the financial side of the account (collection and payment). Payment needs to be in my account before the last day of the month. If you haven't paid, then your deposit gets used. After one week of non-payment, we start looking for a replacement.

(4) It is recommended that you change the password each time the account is passed to you.

(5) People in the Central Durban area would be given preference. Its easier to trust someone when you know where they live :D

Any comments and suggestions regarding this idea are most welcome.
 
I am pretty sure when Axxess finds out they will terminate the account.
 
Well, I've shot off a mail asking Axxess if the behavior is acceptable. It'll be cleared up soon enough :)

However, I don't agree with Linouser. With people hitting 870Gb a month, I cant see how they would consider this abuse. They get another user, I take the risk of splitting & managing the account. Its a win-win for them. The way I figure, if they had good enough systems, and they sold this account in 1-week stretches, they'd have a bunch more subscribers. But hey, that's just my opinion :)
 
they dont want sharing so they only allow 1 logon. to my knowledge they never said you cant pass your login details around to someone else if u want to. However, they may catch-on and stop it simply out of a money point of view since 3 x R900pm is better than R900 / 3 for their business.

Its not a win-win as this account is a loss leader and they will loose out by having it split over 3 customers.
 
@rurapente: Only one person will be using the account at a time, so only one login is needed.

@Nerfherder: What do you mean "loss leader"?
3 people using one account VS 3 people using no account. Looks like a win to me. On the other hand, those three people may buy per-gig bandwidth instead, which is probably more profitable. On the other other hand, with people like Afrihost, that per-gig bandwidth wont be bought from Axxess. Bottom-line, hard to say what they would prefer.
 
wait till you get a response from Axxess...

But I can almost guarantee that nobody will give you the money to manage the account and pay the bills.... it gives you more "power" than the other 2 "partners"... I know for one I wouldn't just hand over R300pm to some random person for 10days of uncapped internet access.

A loss leader is a product sold at a low price (at cost or below cost) to stimulate other, profitable sales.

So the people who cant afford the Uncapped account(low price) should go for the per-gig bundles (profitable sales). Hence we're killing 3 possible profitable sales by sharing the uncapped account. Good point. I guess Axxess will have the final say.
 
@ToxicBunny: Good point. Hence the Durban preference. Also, this is a try-out. Toss the idea out there, and see what people say :)
 
Its hard to explain why it hurts them....

Like they are unable to offer uncapped accounts to every single person in the contry, infact if every single one of Axxess customers asked for an uncapped account they would not be able to offer the product.

Depending on how many peple get a 1 or 3 gig cap from them will ditermine how many uncapped accounts they can offer.
So lets say everyone starts doing what you are doing....all of a sudden they are selling a 250gig cap for R300, but they only really make money when they sell 5 gigs for R300 (or whatever their price is) Uncapped is them selling off the spare bandwidth that they have.

Not everyone can afford R1000pm so they will have a limted amount of people trying to get that account, when you split it up then it makes it a problem for them as it is no longer viable.

It doesn't. But 3 people could use it at different times. I don't see any reason why this should not be allowed. Any account purchased can be used from any ADSL line. Only, in the case of an uncapped account, you are limited to 1 concurrent connection.
 
Uncapped only allows 1 concurrent login. Each user would get a 10-day allocation of time to use the account, and during that time, no one else would have access.
 
@The_Librarian: There is no locked-down router. That is often the case with fixed-ip business accounts. However, in this case, it is purely a data account.
