Axxess Uncapped Subscribers Feedback

I think the big problem is people are confusing uncapped and unshaped. What Axxess have simply done is give you as much cap as you want then cut-off all the big bandwidth users ie peer to peer stuff. So you have all this capacity and nowhere to use it lol
Simply put either way you are stuffed. Only when they offer uncapped and unshaped will the offer be worth anything.
I have a friend with agrihost who says he is getting good speeds. Frankly when I readed the words "HEAVILY SHAPED" I stopped reading. Now with myisp offering a cheaper heavily shaped service AXXESS are back to square one.
My own conclusion and this is based on absolutely no facts is that only MWEB were prepared for the uncapped revolution and AXXESS and friends are scrambling to save face as hords desert the sinking ship. While MWEB bought up all available excess bandwidth Axxess and co milked the gravy train.
The average consumer will almost certainly be taken for a ride before the uncapped craze stabalises. And the first one to offer both will win:D

ignorance at its best!

Have any of you hit 60GB+ yet? Afrihost is throttling us to 384kbps line speeds, so I'm going back to my Axxess ADSL Express account till we know the real limits of the different accounts.

I lol'd when I read that :D

Anyhow, I don't know who to pick, was keen on going with Axxess, then saw that Afrihost is semi-shaped during office hours and unshaped after hours. Then I read about the 60GB throttling limit that 4MB users are experiencing. I'm only on 384k, doing about 30-33GB a month, so that 60GB throttle limit won't affect me as such. Still I want to play online, download from the IS news server and youtube a bit without any problems. Who do u suggest I go for ? Perhaps buy an Openweb resold Mweb 384k uncapped for April only and see how that goes ?

Still running the 384K uncapped. The thing is that yesterday and last night I was getting +-40kbps and today max is about 27kbps. Too unstable at the moment

same here. I was on the Axxess-semi - 3.49 Mb/s. Cancelled it and went on the axxess-express - only 1.5 Mb/s. And this is at 10:30pm !
No cap, but half the speed. I'm not sure if I did the right thing....

Uncapped 384 and 4096 accounts
We have launched our dedicated 384 and 4096 uncapped accounts. This service runs on the same IS backbone as our other uncapped accounts (You'll find under the *Express list). This account is a 24 hour shaped service which means it will be perfect for normal internet activities in an office environment like web browsing and email. This account is not for heavy downloaders, P2P and news downloads and other similiar services will be heavily shaped.

Sorry guys, move to mweb.

Man they should say how bad the product is before advertising it.

I am wanting to do some work now but the speed whilst using the axxess uncapped to check emails just takes forever. But opening pages is fine.

Here is the speed test from the axxess page
settings.php

time is 8:45

Ja, performance is extremely poor, cancelling.
Don't get anywhere near acceptable speeds, even for standard use.
Just surfing mybb is slow as hell.

I just signed up to axxess unshaped and i get about 5kbps a second. This is unuseable can't even browse properly? Glad i tried the R1 version instead of the month sign up :( What is the point of having uncapped if you can't even download game patches for your games? I wonder if the games that need an always on connection wil work?

5.5 kbps YOU <----this sucks i want my R1 back :(
46 kbps Analogue + IP Overhead
53 kbps 64k ISDN + IP Overhead
112 kbps 128k ISDN + IP Overhead
161 kbps 192k DSL + IP Overhead
(games.saix.net bandwith meter)

I downloaded 410mb since last night 9pm. And I have a 4mbps account. Its SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And wost of all. It was a direct http link to opensuse. I wanted to see how fast the account is. So I selected 4 DVD iso from Japan,Australia,Bulgaria and US

It didn't even finish the first one with 10 threads connected.

My advice STAY away!!!! I'm using Mweb its MUCH faster

Barely cracking 0.8mbps on HTTP today. Last night was at least getting 2.4mbps. Not usable for work unfortunately :(
