Let it run 24/7 with a giganews account?
I have a Intel Atom PC dedicated to the task of downloads. I wanted to use it as a gateway with some proxy software to give priority to other PC's on the LAN whenever they needed internet access, e.g. my laptop or gaming PC. I hate having to manually pause my downloads when I need some speed. I want the download PC to use everything available when there's no traffic but to be the lowest priority when other PC's need it. But after trying various options for a few days I failed and gave up. Can you guys recommend a Windows app that I can use to do traffic shaping?
I have a shaping application installed on the entire network called CFos, worked 100% on the 512k line and on the initial weekend of the "4mb" line, if my pings start fluctuating (which they DON'T), the app restricts bandwidth ensuring a lovely low ping throughout the network.

Anyone have a solution for the following:
I tried several apps incl cFos if I recall correctly. It also didn't work out for me.
I think the issue is that I want to run my downloading apps on the gateway PC itself. So I want to manage the connections originating on the gateway as well as those passing through the gateway originating from other PC's on the LAN.
