Axxess vs Afrihost 4mbs Uncapped

I noticed that Axxess is cheaper than Afrihost. Will be needing a new ISP from next month and wondering how the shaping compares?
I mostly stream though, only torrent at night on the odd occasion.

Would also like to know! Is Axxess on MTN or IS? And also general queries such as shaping / throttling etc.

Not sure what the difference is other than that they are different from each other regarding FUP.

Unfortunately Telkom screw me here with only a 5-6Mbps line. If I could have the full 10Mbps I pay for, I would be happy.

Can anyone with an Axxess home uncapped account please provide some feedback as to what their shaping/throttling policies are? Also in the same boat and stuck between Afrihost & Axxess, Like Afrihost because I know a lot of people that use them as an ISP and they are extremely happy with it, but Axxess on the other hand is R100 Cheaper for the 4mb bundle. Afrihost = R597 and Axxess = R499 . Real tough decision to make :/

Just try both out and compare them for yourself and your usage habits, both are easy to cancel with no 30 day nonsense.
Personally, I keep my line far away from ISP's.
Telkom offer a 25% discount anyway on ADSL lines, if you sign a 12 month contract. It's a bit like drawing blood from a stone to get this but eventually you speak to the right person and makes it happen.

Not sure. For the sake of my sanity, I stay far away from Telkom's site
I have a 4mb line that is still on the "fastest" (R400 something) profile. I'm waiting for all these upgrades to settle and then will downgrade to the "faster" profile (R299 I think), then minus 25% off that. Probably at the end of the month.

Can't comment on Axxess, but streaming works 24/7 for me on Afrihost. Shaping can be a pain at times, but they're in a transitionary period at the moment with regard to their capacity.

Sorry to pick up on this thread so late.
Obviously Axxess are our sister company, so we think they're also pretty awesome. They run their network a little differently, so it depends on what you prefer.

Afrihost all the way - bigger network = more to play with in terms of capacity. Generally just better
