Great. If you enjoy dev then I hope you find a great fit.

I'm considered pivoting from UX to dev, but I feel that as someone starting out it will be a race to the bottom that will eventually be replaced by a bot.

Lifestyle and worry I guess. For example to study i would need to fund it as i'm sure the work wouldn't, then you would have to start at the bottom, learn etc, its easier to do this kind of thing when you are younger, i already went through one big switch in my life, with my personality type my paranoia might make me have a heart attack sooner than I already will xD

to be honest i havent really researched the path so i am spit balling here.

if that's the challenge you're facing but you still want to switch, have you considered going into business yourself?
you can start small and minimize risks by adapting your product and core business model to your customer profiles needs.

I have thought about it, not sure i have the appetite for the risk
