Bad Driving thread

On this lovely morning on my way to a colleague's house (we carpool) I had to cross the R55 whilst on Tulip.

Traffic to the highway was backed up as usual, and a truck with trailer was standing in the intersection when the light for me turned green, and off I go.

By then the truck have moved forward a bit, leaving enough space for myself to drive out of the intersection and to continue onwards, when all of a sudden! a white Nissan Navara tried to take the gap from the opposite side (blocked by the truck). Driver thought he'd be quick to take the gap before traffic arrive, but I was there first.

I had to brake quite sharply, but a nasty head on accident was avoided.

Showed him the universal biker symbol (what?) and he exploded in rage. I just continued on. By that time the truck cleared the intersection, and he drove away in a rage.

Dashcam was not operational, there is a problem with the cable supplying 12V to the dashcam :(
 
Thanks. We were both in the car. Just a little whiplash - going for x-rays tomorrow just in case something develops down the line.
The car is at the Santam assessment centre in Menlyn now, so we'll see if it will / can be repaired. Apparently the floor is bent

Great to hear. Looked like quite a hard knock, hope the x-rays come out cool, and that the a-hole is insured.

We drove form the home but his car had to be recovered. It didn't look too bad, but was pissing coolant. We also found on of his park distance censors among the broken bits of plastic on the back of our car.

The payment part is to be sorted between my and his insurance. That is why I am insured.
