Two minibus taxis use the turn left lane to get to the front and then the first skip the red light while the second just cut in front of the queue.

Gauteng roads looks so under-engineered.

Hah. The roads in CT are nice, but speeds are so low. I don't know if the traffic light synchronisation is just really bad, or there are too many lights on open roads, but it's hard to average more than 60kph in the CT area.

Maybe it explains why their road fatality stats seem to be lower than other provinces (given population size).

Interesting thing I saw while looking for stats, almost 50% of all fatal traffic accidents seem to happen on Saturdays and Sundays:

To be able to average 60, would mean that most would have to spend plenty of time travelling faster than 80.
No, the difference between CT and the rest of the country is too many main roads have speed limits less than what the road is capable of handling.

Interesting stats. Shows that disregard of the rules is most probably responsible for most accidents.

Stationary at the roboot this morning, a clearly new biker on a little 250 comes through the red at about 60.

/Waits for news article about inexperienced biker death.

You have to really get my goat for me to post your transgressions here, and this entitled female driver sure got my goat for flashing lights at me as if I am doing something wrong that needs to be flashed about.

Lights had just turned orange and she was still far away and not approaching at speed:

Now 2 seconds later and I am busy turning:

Now 3 seconds after lights turned orange and she flashes lights at me as she approaches the intersection:
772134

She still proceeds to cross the intersection, crossing most of the intersection after the lights turned red just after the 2nd screenshot below:

Yeah, it is all a daily occurrence/irritation which I have largely gotten used to and expect, although I don't simply give way to drivers breaking the law.
