2 lanes inside the circle itself means it's a proper circle, not a mini circle.
Double lane leads me to believe that they are traffic circles and not mini circles, hence the bakkie driving in front of me had the right of way.
Same general principle either way: give way to any vehicle in the circle or that will be in the circle before you that will cross your path. Those circles in Sloane Road are a problem because they appear to be incorrectly marked. Are they normal Roundabouts or Small circles?
If the former, then yes the bakkie should not have given the car right of way, but if small circles then yes the car has right of way.

Spot on. Exactly the problem. The authorities do not pay enough attention to correctly defining the nature of a circle and then fail to mark accordingly. The issue is rife in CT. It is less of a problem in JHB and PTA, but there are enough examples around to create confusion in the minds of most drivers.I disagree, the rules for mini circles and traffic circles/roundabouts are different and after travelling on Sloane this morning I am convinced that the signage is completely wrong. I saw a few signs that indicate the circles are mini circles but reading up on the definition of a mini circle and traffic circle/roundabout, they are definitely traffic circles/roundabouts.

Traffic rules :
Taxis have absolute right of way.
You're disagreeing with the traffic law?I disagree, the rules for mini circles and traffic circles/roundabouts are different and after travelling on Sloane this morning I am convinced that the signage is completely wrong. In principle, same thing: give way to anyone in the circle who will cross your path before you can get into the circle.
Two more incidents at the traffic circles on Sloane, the first are two drivers who fail to indicate although they are in the inner most lane of the traffic circle, I lost my patience with the second one which is not the best idea. The second incident is where a driver completely ignores another driver already in the circle and makes a lane change going through the circle...
Those seem to be clearly marked as mini circles even though they are not mini and have two lanes. You need to give way to anybody that's in the circle, or arrives before you.
