Double lanes are there only traffic volume handling - not part of the definition of either. So many road users are completely confuzzed about the differences. The signage has to be correct. The lane drifting is completely inexcusable.
Ignoring signage, as you are correct in that the signage on Sloane doesn't indicate which of the two types of circles are present, I found this regarding the size and 'mountability' which supports my view that they are traffic circles...
What is the difference between the two circles?
A traffic circle is classified as large when it has a minimum diameter of about 16 metres and a 1.5 to 2 metre flattened curb which allows heavy vehicles to drive onto a small section of the circle. A mini traffic circle is normally not more than seven to 10 metres in diameter and the entire circle is mountable for heavy vehicles.
